In order to reduce the number of locked threads and bannings taking place I have created this thread on the SOE boards.  Please refrain from use of 'excessive negativity' in both forums.  I feel we have an honest grievance but it's important we seek to get it addressed in the appropriate manner.  Thanks for you support in this.

I don't think I have the emotional strength to carry on any more hate-filled drama. Everyone else can holler and scream all they want, but I'm just going to stand over there, by NightTrace's grave, and CloudWolf's coma bed, and just... *sighs*

The polite and calm approach has been done before, and it clearly hasn't worked, but I honestly think that lava is only going to make things worse. I want what's good for this game. Do you? I really can't stand to let bad things happen to it, but neither can I carry on the pitchforks and the torches. I know what can happen. I know what has happened.

Truly, I don't think anything is going to change, and it tears me apart... But we simply mustn't stop trying because of harsh setbacks. Carry on! Carry on! Through the fire and the storm, carry on. Change will come, and when it does, I hope I'm there to see it.

I want to say, "Thank You," to the community for their continued and valiant efforts to improve the game for their co-players. You guys all rock.

What you need to do to win an argument like this is pull what one of my teachers did. Be an *CENSORED*, but be polite. He argued with this chick over email and ALWAYS signed it

Sincerely,
blah

Even with the most hate filled speech, she got pissed and dropped the pleasantries.

I would just like to say banning players, even temporary bans, for "excessive negativity" is just ludicrous, IMO.

Player Mods need to check themselves at the door, you are still community members who pay for this service like me, just because you have a Mod account on the forums does not give you rights beyond proper moderation. You are here to control the forums from spam and flames, but lately I have seen blatant censoring and just way too much over moderation on these forums.

You can't blame bannings on Mods, only Raijinn has that access, so I really question why he would ban anyone over speaking their mind on the forums. If you haven't notice, we have *CENSORED* good reasons on why we're negative, yet there's nothing be done, and now you ban prominent, long-time members like cloudwolf for being "excessively negative."

As a player returning after a few years I am seeing alot of threads appealing to SOE for one thing or another.

Is this game not worth returning to? I have to say it's kinda dishearting to see all this going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho,
thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.

The king and his men
stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her Bones.
The seas be ours
and by the powers
where we will we’ll roam.

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.

Some men have died
and some are alive
and others sail on the sea
– with the keys to the cage…
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler’s Green!

The bell has been raised
from it’s watery grave…
Do you hear it’s sepulchral tone?
We are a call to all,
pay head the squall
and turn your sail toward home!

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high…
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.

Though it was appropriate :)

I dropped a little post in there and there is still a lot more I'd like to say, but I agree with Zippy really.

I don't think this will make much of a difference, in the grand scheme of things. Why? Because we've seen it all before. Obviously, I'm still going to drop my opinion in on things, but in the end I wouldn't be suprised if it meant anything.

It's getting to the stage where you have to watch how you word everything, because it might be construed as excessively negative, or whatever, because it's dealing with a fragile topic.

I'm Raijinn's #1 criminal apparently. I said his excuses were lack luster, and I even thanked him for doing his job when reporting about the extension on the halloween update.

This whole thing is absurd.

Don't forget, everyone with an account here can also make their voice heard on the SOE forums where my appeal is posted.

Yeah I agree with Remag this time...banning is bad...word to the devs/mods/csrs/ccrs/and whoever else...if they make your life a living hell do what we all do...survive it...make it soo bad on that paticular person that they want to leave..banning is an easy out...though ..i don't get why people hang around if they hate..then again i do...to give people like me a chance to pwn them back that much harder...see the world is a circle..much like life..no matter what you do..you can't just say f'it and ban it..i'm probably not making this case scenario any better but ..this thread was for voicing...and there, sweethearts, its heard...

PS i <3 you all players, mods ,devs(people i failed to mention)...so lets continue to b*tch like a happy family and all shall be normal...\m/><\m/

If you're looking to log in, play the game, and have fun I'd say it's worth it.  I always loved the Matrix concept and wish the day I could be plugged into a VR simulator and produce energy in a pod as my employment to come.  In terms of actual gameplay, some content areas have greatly improved.  Dataminer in my opinion has been made into what we always asked for, a few new quests are in, some other stuff, in general the updates are moving things along.  My biggest complaint is the deficiencies in the combat system.

The forums, eh, depends on what you consider fun I suppose.  They seem to go through these up and down cycles.  People are passionate about the game and that's a good thing.  There are a couple semi-legit complaints.  None that I would recommend you really worry about.  The whole CRM thing for example, sure, I agree a producer letter or week in review would be neat.  At the same time, I don't think it's super critical in the grand scheme of things.  From what I remember we only got one from our original producer.  I think his name was Andy Kaplan, eh, could be making that up, been a long time.

On the main topic:

Walrus,

You have a forum account and all, you're the producer.  The next and final level greivances should go to rather than having them spill over into general SOE and other forums.  If you felt like putting a letter out, you would regardless of the current CRM.  I'm honestly surprised you haven't made any effort to step in and help/coach Raijinn through some of this.  Perhaps look in and evaluate what's happening once every month or two.  With a little communication we could probably have avoided the escalation of this issue.

Thank you for considering my opinion.

P.S. Bans except in the most extreme cases are ridiculous.  A permaban as a result of this matter is absurd and obscene.  A timed ban, clearly unnecessary.  Addressing the cause of the negativity would be a reasonable solution.

You can scream and cry all you want, it won't change anything. I've seen it for years over at Star Wars Galaxies. SOE doesn't care what their players want, they do things THEIR way. (Kinda like the Anti Burger King...lol)

And just to avoid any accusations of being "Excessively Negative"....I for one am glad that our Corporate Overlords allow us to play their fine games, and post on their beautiful forums.   SMILEY
