I always enjoy working with bright young people, and I'm lucky enough that at least some of them seem to enjoy working with me. Now, they'll naturally want to recharge their batteries by relaxing with other people their age once in a while, and I'm just glad to see that you kids are still able to get out and have a little fun, even in the midst of all this craziness. Wouldn't want to forget what we're fighting for, after all.

I stand by my original reaction:

Well, smith doesn't like......

*darminian cocks his head curiously, could this be a relevant live event subject matter affair?*

Dancing!

 *.....*

Did that just *CENSORED* happen?

Did that just actually happen?

Follow that up with a few more profanities and some /suckitdowns on the pace knock-off charachter model. And i logged off to play WoW.

Like i said, makes blue sky look like end of beta, and no that's not a complement.

Recursionites have always been good at throwning down.  Good to see Rare show up for these big events!  (Let's hope he shows up again on Vector next month for a certain 3rd Annual Club Hel Party!! SMILEY )

in some strange way, even though the virologist is there to simply "hand out cookies and tshirts" as a device in an event, actually having her say it is somehow oddly fourth wall breaking.

other than that, it seems devs turning up to player events and putting in a short cameo appearance is happening more and more lately - on the basis that they're not actually obliged to do anything of the sort, i think it adds a nice touch.

looks like this game has two very specific plot threads running nowadays - the "main" storyline, with its main storyline stuff, and additional storyline related subplots that tend to wander a little closer to vaguely surreal, or "mini events" such as the Level 100 Smiths followed by smithling spawns in a particular area. i quite like the atmosphere these odd little subversive moments provide.

Especially the non-sequitors with the local Neighborhood Contacts.  I really like those.

A nice event - I'd have liked to know more about the Virologist, where she came from, how the Oracle contacted them all etc. - but I'm just like that I guess. Still, it was quite a nice way to turn an OOC party into a "keep the spirits up" wartime effort and it worked quite well. I presume what happened at the end was that Ms Virologist, transformed the redpills there into her likeness and sent them off to help out against Smith.

an explanation of that inside one of the screenies would have been good, i think. i thought it was a bunch of LESIG playing the virologists or something, i had no idea they were regular players.

Well, I can't say I expected this to get a Live Events post but it was cool.  I got in a couple of good screens too.

I left before the end though, it was like, 3:30am.
