Ok I've been playing SWG since launch, played WoW on and off since launch, beta tested LOTRO, beta testing Tabula Rasa atm. Anyway, I was on one of the galaxy (server) forums and someone brought up this, so I checked it out and for $20 I figured I'd give it a try. What I'm really interested in is PVP on a large, populated server (yeah, I realize its been out for 2 years so Large and Populated might not mean much) any suggestions?

Well, the Vector server perma-flags you for PvP when you reach level 16, so if you don't mind having the chance of being attacked, then that's the best pure PvP server, although I am not really sure how the population is on Vector anymore.

I play on Recursion, which also has PvP but it's optional.

Hello to you!!

I'm quite new myself, I've been around for 2 months now and I've figured only a very small number of things.

1. Recursion rules!!!

lol I mean this in all seriousness, not to start a server war, but just from what I know. In terms of population, I think that Recursion and Syntax have a good mix of players, vector is designed for the hard-core pvp'er in mind.

Recursion never has pvp all the time, yet it's always good to be witness to it when it does really kick off (like I've been finding out the last couple of days by acting as a rezzer watching the fights)

I guess it really depends what you want to do though. Like RemagDiv said, if you really want to go in just for pvp then go on vector but be aware that people can (and will) attack you once you're lvl 16. If you want to do on a more casual basis and when you want to, then go for either Recursion or Syntax. People do pvp on them all the time, yet the nice difference is that you don't have to if you don't want to.

Hope that helps a little bit,

There's clubs with pacification zones on Vector-Hostile, allowing you to escape. In fact, I encourage those on Recursion and Syntax to try making an alt on Vector. There's a lot more RP to be found on Vector-Hostile lately, especially with the presence of new players choosing Vector at random as well as the player events like Algorithm Black going on.

Vector-Hostile is picking up for a true Hostile vs. Non-Hostile blend, what with all of this talk about pro-war and anti-war, truces between orgs, and faction rivalries.

Zerotolerance makes some great points.

I myself having a level 50 on a non-pvp server (recursion) and a 50 on a pvp server which of course is vector can say i prefer the pvp server.

Vector is more mature now than it used to be and roleplaying is starting to flourish with the latest story lines. Just because someone is red doesn't automatically mean they are dead. But with this in mind if your a total *CENSORED* your going to have more troubles cause your actions here speak loud and you can't hide other than in the few pacification zones. You can be attacked almost at any time so diplomacy and PR can assist you. In short it's the purest form of the matrix you can reach in game.

To be honest If your here for pvp then vector-hostile is the best way to go. But if your not sure make a toon on a pvp and non pvp server and play a little and mingle and then make your decision. Cause an informed decision is the best decision.

Also for anyone on Recursion or Syntax looking for a change. Give vector-hostile a chance and you may be surprised.

I would love to see vector blow up as well it definitely is a different feel but it's a fun feel especially if you're looking for pvp, not to mention this server gave birth to one of the greatest player events in mxo, the olympics.  I myself am grinding up there and am a syntax native.

I'm on Vector, and I see no reason why I shouldn't.
The PvP is permanent, so you have that plus over Rec or Syn. And, if you don't want to PvP, just say "I don't wanna fight", I'm sure we all are civilizated people.

What advantages have Recursion or Vector? I haven't figured out yet.
