Tatiana Beshlovic was sitting up in her bed, watching the Mega City News Channel. Stories of homicide had become the usual on the news. "Why do I bother watching the news these days?" Tatiana asked herself as another breaking news report came on the television. She looked at her glanced at her bedside clock, it showing 11:30 p.m. Her boyfriend, Alex Burns, left the apartment around 7:30 to go and pick up some food from the local grocery store.
She wasn't worried about him, as long as he came back "in one piece". Tatiana looked back at the television as the news came back on. "We have breaking news just making its way into the newsroom. Another homicide has taken place inside the Mara Central Church. We take you live at the scene with reporter John Gritner." The news anchor said as the camera switched to the reporter at the church. John was wearing a dark brown fedora with a black leather jacket, checking his microphone before he was to start talking. He tapped his earpiece as he looked into the camera.
"Thanks, Jennifer. We are here at the Mara Central Church, reporting yet another homicide that took place inside." John said as he and the cameraman walked inside the church doors, looking around at the cops and detectives. They got near the podium, pulling a nearby cop aside to ask a few questions.
"Officer, can you give us details pretaining to the homicide?" John asked as the officer took a deep breath. "Yes, the victim was a young male, showing gunshot wounds in the stomach and head. Right now, it looks like the victim took a shot to the head, fell, and then the attacker placed a few more rounds in the stomach area." The officer said as John seemed tapped his earpiece again. John asked a few more questions, then let the officer leave to continue his work.
The cameraman then focused the camera on the victim's body, showing a pool of blood on the floor, and multiple bullet wounds. Tatiana gasped and put her hand over her mouth as she recognized the victim. It was Alex. She quickly cut off the television, and sobbed out loud, reeling in from the shock of her dead boyfriend. A couple minutes later, she heard someone knocking on her door downstairs.
She wiped her eyes as she got out of the bed, heading downstairs. She looked through the "peek-hole" in the door, seeing two guys, wearing green sunglasses and dark green trench-coats. One of them held an automatic rifle in their hand, inspecting it while the other person continued to knock on the door. Tatiana asked, "Who is it?" Hoping that the two guys would hear her through the door.
"We are here to save you." The second guy said as he lowered the rifle to his side. "You two look like those 'redpills'..." Tatiana replied, unlocking the door so she could open it. She opened the door, and allowed the two guys to enter the apartment. They were both very muscular, making Tatiana seem smaller than she looked. She told them to have a seat on her large, leather couch, while she got some coffee from the kitchen.
In her mind, she had an idea as to why they were here. Reports of people being "awakened" had flooded the news right along with homicides. As she sat down in her small, black chair across from the couch, she placed the coffee cup on the table next to her chair. She looked at the two guys, asking "So, why are you two here?"
The second person held up his automatic rifle, nodding at the first guy, expecting him to give Tatiana the answer.
As we said earlier, "We are here to save you...."
((This is Chapter 1 of course. More to come.))
