I have received more than few questions concerning the influences on Vitality and if they are actually working or not. As most of these questions involve folks saying it isn't I am here to show you how to actually check whether or not a Stat influence bonus is working or not.?

Basically there are two methods to do this. First cast a buff on yourself, while naked, and only have the specific abilities required loaded. Check the bonus on your buff bar then check the base listed bonus for the ability's mouse over. Is the actual buff larger than the base listed buff % bonus on the ability? If yes then you are getting your influences, If no then you probably aren't.

Second method is to give yourself a secondary source of the same bonus. For Example;

Contested Withdraw Bonus – Load Doctor
Initiative Bonus – Load Martial Arts Initiate
Determination – Load Clear Head
Health Regen Rate Bonus – use an item that gives this bonus
Max Health Bonus – Load Kung Fu Proficiency
Inner Strength Regen Rate Bonus – Load Execute Program
Max Inner Strength Bonus – Load Execute Program

With anyone of these abilities or items loaded you will see that your Influence from Vitality is actually being shown on the Bonus tab of the Status panel.

Now, why all this confusion in the first place? Well in the old system while your stats didn't greatly affect any part of your overall character it did affect it. Your Stats effected several attributes, far more than is current, so if all the bonuses were displayed you would have had about several addition lines of bonuses in your Status - Bonus panel that didn't do anything really. However this display design wasn't changed now that the system is streamlined.

So now you can test the bonuses yourselves and see whether these influence bonuses are working or not.

I very much appreciate all the feedback from the community on this issue. And I am very happy to clarify the issue for everyone.

Yea many ppl are complaining about IS regen rate, hp regen rate and max IS and hp influences not working.
The basic fact is that they actually work, but theresince aren't too many buffs, styles or title upgrades that feature values that can be influenced by Vtality, those influences are not used a whole lot at all.

Anyway i can tell for sure that IS cost reduction and HP regen rate are working properly (just use combat hacking and faster healing to as proof ), along with max Hp (Aikido GM Upgrade...).

they are being applied correctly from my testing, but as Fade2black said, the problem seems to be that there aren't enough attributes for these influences to ... well   influence.  vitality seems pretty meaningless unless you plan to be only a Patcher or hacker.

a few small tweaks could easily change this without going overboard.

One thing still bothers me. I have an Inner Strength Regen Rate of 30%, and an Inner Strength Regen Rate Bonus of 26%

Surely 126% of 30% is 37% (rounded down)?

Yet my Inner Strengh Regen Rate is still listed as 30% in my stat menu.

Something doesn't quite add up there.

IS Regen rate bonus is only applied to buffs, not to your "base" IS Regen Rate or to your clothes.
So If your char has, say, 30% Base IS regen Rate even if you have a +100% IS RR Bonus you are still getting 30% ( a "Base" amount is a score that your char have even if you don't load anything; examples are: your hitpoints, IS, health regen rate, IS regen rate.).

If you cast an IS Regen rate buff on yourself (if i remember correctly combat hacking grants  IS RR) then your influence comes into play and the if the buff was supposed to grant you 15%,and you have 50% IS RR Bonus then in the end you will get 15% +(50% of 15%)= 22% IS RR from that buff.

this is the exact reason I think we need more IS/Health regen buffs.

i.e.  Marial arts Iniate & Gunman could passively grant +5% IS & Health regen. this would then be influenced by the Vitality attributes. I know in that level range IS regen especially was becoming an issue for me and I could have used a little extra.
