Notes: I would like to thank all contestants for participating in the Gunslinger tournament. Though the first round was not run according to the above stated rules, the semifinal round and final round were re-explained to more closely follow the above stated rules.
It was intended to use free fire similarly to interlock in terms of attacks being done in "rolls". If both fighters fire one shot, that is one "roll". If one fighter lands a hit, regardless of damage, AND the other fighter misses, the round is over. The fighter to land a shot has won that round.
If the first "roll" is a draw, both fighters land a hit or both fighters miss, then fighters may fire another "roll" until one fighter has landed AND the other has missed. The fighter that lands the shot wins the round.
This way, players can use a free-fire generic attack or a free-fire special attack. The faster attack may land first, but the other fighter still has a chance to land the first shot causing a draw in the first "roll". To prevent confusion, I would declare the fighter to land 2 consecutive shots the automatic winner, taking in cast time for a special attack.
My intention was to use System Chat to moderate the shots landed. My oversight was that System chat only displays PvP combat, not duels.
In the future for a similar tournament, I would implement the above notes as guidlelines as well as move the tourament to Datamine where system chat could moderate.
This style of tournament has the potential to be very fair for non-50's and very short in duration if properly organized.

I'm sorry time did not allow me to join this. You have a great premise, and great people. I wish I had been able to attend; I was looking to discussing the fine art of oneiromancy with the MegaCity mavens, and had a couple of dreams of my own to offer.
Thank you for the kind words, Sugaree. Anytime you would like a dream interpreted, you can always PM me or just post the dream here.
