Those are the attributes that can be affected by Influences. There's no x% Code Writing Bonus influence..

This does not answer the question.

There are clothes buffs that add to directly to Code Writing.  There's no definition for them and the additions to Code Writing points do nothing.  If you can focus on the question that would be great.  Thx.

The question posed in your post was "Where's Code Writing," which I replied to - Code Writing has attribute grants through x pts clothing buffs and abilities, but does not have influences.

Anyway, Code Writing buffs do do something, Code Writing buffs your fragment coding skills (back when we coded frags individually through the panel). What's more, when you start off as a lowbie, you can't load up the level 15 Ability Maker branches... you may code abilities, though. The hit/miss ratio of coding at those stages are determined by your Write Code, which is comprised of Code Writing rather than Ability Making xx pts.

btw just so you know, trying to argue MxO facts with Bay is like trying to ask why Jesus had a beard. it's impossible, in any case what bay said is as usual correct.

Well, I guess it's time for him to bone up because the game says and I quote...

"Leveling Code Writing beyond level 15 will continue to improve your combat style, but WILL NOT benefit your crafting skills."

It does not say....

"... Code Writing buffs your fragment coding skills (back when we coded frags individually through the panel). And, I'm referring to the "beyond level 15" part.

Beyond level 15 you need to use Ability Maker, Upgrade Maker, Apparel Crafter etc etc. There are clothes that give specific bonuses to those which will enhance them appropriately.

The Code Writing abil gives you Write Code which can be used to make anything, but it eventually reaches a cap of 15 requiring you to move on the the advanced abils.

So to answer your question, Code Writing can be used to make anything, but caps out at 15, clothing can enhance this but to make anything advanced you need to move on to the level 15 abilities.

But if you want to be extremely literal, Code Writing isn't on that list.

You guys have reading comprehension problems.  It says, it improves the combat style, Code Writing combat style.  My point is...It doesn't.  So, then, what does it do?  As far as I can tell, the answer is nothing.

Please don't bring up crafting again.

Code Writing is to CRAFT, so Code Writing bonuses from clothes help the CRAFTING, CRAFTING CRAFTING CRAFTING. They do not help the CODER STYLE of fighting. CODER STYLE is the fighting style, so clothes with a WRITE CODE bonus DO NOT AFFECT CODER STYLE, because CODER STYLE IS NOT WRITE CODE.

Please Note that Coder Style and Write Code are two entirely separate abilities and must be levelled separately. Write Code Caps at 15 and Coder style can be upgraded all the way to 50.

So clothes with a write code bonus do not affect Coder Style because they are not the same thing.

Well, duh.  But, that's not what it says.

I'm sorry, but what really is the point of this thread?

We've answered every single iteration of your question, and now you claim you already knew the answer?

Seriously, what's the point?

Try actually reading what I've said.

According to the game, code writing should have 2 definitions.

One for people who take it to 15 and leave it there.
And, another for after 15.

"Leveling Code Writing beyond level 15 will continue to improve your combat style, but WILL NOT benefit your crafting skills."

It is supposed to improve your combat style. Therefore, the code writing for 15 and <15 should be different from the one for >15.

The second part to this is....

It would be absolutely moronic to chase down rare "Code Writing" clothes in lieu of simply raising a base ability like code writing to 15.

The point is...

The devs started out doing something and didn't finish.   It's not a question of utility because I know that, sry if I made it seem that way.  And, this particular attribute doesn't fit and I'm guessing it doesn't because of indolence.

i think that text may be a relic from when coder style was still a componant of code writing, where originaly the first 15pts would raise both the writing and style points but any added after that would only add to the style, this was changed when coder style was given its own ability slot and the mem cost for both halved.

there are a few other typos like this in the coder tree, for example daemon boost 2.0 : in the system chat panel it says it boosts your simulcras melee acc, ballistic acc and viral transmission - a cr1 reference to acc which was missed.

some of these things may have just been glossed over when changes like the division of code writing were made.

or maybe, seeing as code writing is the all encompasing stat for the first 15 levels that anything that adds to it , adds to the base 15 points of code writing , therefore adding to all the different types of coding, eg an extra 2pts in code writing may add 2 pts to aparell, weapon, upgrade, ability and (insert 5th type here, lol cant rember it off the top of my head).

**Edit** : damm typo's

As far as I can tell, Code Writing as a buff is dead.  The separate attributes buffs...apparel, weapon, etc. do.

As an aside, it's depressing to see a game like "Warhawk PS3" devs remove spawn points on the fly while this game can't change simple, yet strategic text in a year+ time.  Sad.

Thx for the info.  SMILEY
