I really hope they are planning something new this year.

I wont hold my breath.

I for one wont be running about collecting masks.... been there, done it thanks.

That doesnt mean they dont look cool.. just not something that interests me personally.

I think Rarebit's said in the past the things like Halloween and Anniversairy events aren't likely to change very much, except that the masks, or in the anniversairy events case t-shirts, are updated.

It's ok Criingey, I am sure I'll have a few extras by the time it's over SMILEY

Knowing how much work Rarebit and our devs have to deal with just to keep the game on its feet, I don't mind that the holiday events don't vary too much in their design. As long as we get new goodies to collect and share SMILEY

Kinda figured as much.  Would be a waste of dev time to start doing new creative things i guess.

Yeah, I'm the same. The holiday events are a nice fun distraction, in my eyes and it's cool to see some of the events and stuff people come up with. Along with farming zombies and zombie scourges :O

The difference between Halloween an the other holiday events are the items usage. Winter and Anniversary items are clothing and can be used all year round (although party hat FX can only be used during the winter period) while the masks can only be used during that period.

I'm not saying its not appropriate, halloween is all about the dressing up as something else, but farming for items that can only be used for a couple of weks a year means that, personally, I prefer the Winter and Anniversary events more.

I realise that new clothing for every event may get stale and means more work for the devs, but how about having a vendor that collects certain masks which gives a special item of clothing. Something like exchanging 20 succubus masks in return for a succubus dress (or something approximating it).

I know, it'd be a lot of work for just a two week period but at least people can get items that are usuable all year round. I know this has turned into a 'want moar' post, I didn't intend for it to be as I don't want to sound like I'm knocking the Dev's who do a great job.

I like that idea, Vinia.

Well, except I wouldn't suit a succubus dress. SMILEY

Not a bad idea at all, Vin  SMILEY  Also, it would give us something to do with all of those extra masks instead of just ending up recycling the less rare ones in stacks of 20.

As for which method of mask collecting I prefer.. there's no question that it's the zombie nashing.  Sure, it can be tough to get a chance to loot but at least it's not full of the horrendous wait times that the Jack O Lantern spawns have.  There really needs to be some way to at least improve the odds of getting a rare(r) mask from the JOL spawns.. either that or decrease the time it takes between spawns.

Next years anniversary needs to change and be something special. The 10th anniversary of The Matrix co-incides with the 4th anniversary of MxO. (9 days apart, but in the same month at least)

Mm, indeed. We had the Half Twins and the Trainman added last year... how about Ookami this year?

I think the name is Lo Rumah, but I'd have to double check...

We're both wrong.  I did a search and only you came up SMILEY  Anyone?  Was hoping to do a search for a pic of her for illustrative purposes

Come on Syntax sometime during Halloween so I can eat your brains please SMILEY
I want to be the one eating the brains SMILEY
No, you can't. If you're new to the halloween bash, you must be brain eaten first before you can eat brains. Company policy, I swear!
