Well, I hope I did Recursion Mervs some bit of justice. I never felt like a very good RPer and am pretty shy. I never felt like I had the personality for a Merv either and at first I was struggling with how I should act, but after meeting the great guys on Recursion I learned that there's  more than one side to that org and the stereotype I'd connected to them was broken. I think my name never got out cause I wasn't around long enough ;p and I don't think I was on many people's radar, as I tend to melt into the crowd and be forgotten. I also don't post very often on the forums cause I get post shy and after writing something up I just hit the back page and decide not to post it.

Honestly, by the time I'd been invited I'd given up hope of being invited and had decided to pump as much energy into my main and Insurgence as I could and that if I *did* get an invite I'd decline.... (LOL ;p) but when the time came I couldn't resist >_< ;p

I was actually hoping to get a EPN spot when I was first invited, since I feel most comfortable RPing EPN... but Rarebit said I was too active on the other servers which I didn't quite understand since I was mostly on those characters for events or if I got bored. oh well :p things happen for a reason

Merv I think is the hardest org for me to RP because I don't really know much about the org other than the severe basics and I didn't like them very much cause my only interaction with them had been pvp or possibly events on my main ;p so my weak knowledge of the org made me shy away even more. BTW, one of the hardest things for me to do when chatting with everyone in game was not to use smileys! I think sometimes I came off super cheerful cause I was trying to evoke friendliness without using smileys haha

Toluca was a great co-liaison and I wish I'd gotten to work with Hattah. Quite a few people asked me about him when my liaison was introduced ;p and made me wonder what he'd been like. Toluca taught me quite a bit and guided me through my first event, etc. Although I had thought you were from the notorious PdS (All Spanish faction on Vector) ;p

I learned a lot from you guys though, and it was fun while it lasted. I wish I'd been able to work with you guys longer as an "official" liaison longer and I'm sorry I fell off the map a bit. By the time I got invited, I was mostly playing for my faction mates and the events; so when the changes came about I really lost heart for a long time and then I was unsure if I would stay. Well, my decision was made for me and I hope I'll see some of you guys somewhere else. ok I think that's all I have to say ;p

Alyth!

Haha, I told ya one day I was not PdS, probably you thought I was trying to cover myself. But no, I never been with them. PdS and me have a "love-hate" story since the beggining SMILEY

And yeah, was great to have you for the final few months of liaisoning... For the first time I had a real co-worker, and you did very very well!

Haha. Yeah, Vira was more awesome than me, it's true. Never fear.

And Alphaea, I think I remember some of those good times, good times indeed. I did do a lot of bickering during my tenure, though. It defined me, somewhat.

*whistles innocently*  Reading is fundamental!

I approve of bickering in most of its forms.

Jerry Springer final thought:  LESIG failed and succeeded on so many levels.  I doubt future players of MMO's will have such command or influence of a game and its inner workings as LESIG'ers did (As little or as much as that really was).  It was mostly about controlling other player's experiences within the game.  Those that did it for selfish reasons were the ones that failed and they drug the community down with it.  But those who were there to have fun and make the game better and more fun for everyone around them, that's what the program was made for in the first place.  You can see it in the testimonials in this thread already.

Oh well, tl;dr.  Thanks to all the LESIG'ers and extra thanks to the ones that put in the hard work to try and keep us interested.

Agreed.

My only contribution was the Cypherite hidden message image.  I let Pblade handle the rest. XD

Well, as some may know, I played Toluca and Nomatopoeic.

My times in lesig started in a werid way. My account had just ran out by the time rarebit send the invites. I had it in autorenew, but my card was expired so the account bas canceled just for a day :p

When we were to chose which server and org to liaison for, I picked EPN syntax. But then terentia decided to switch characters, and rare asked for an european timezone to switch over to recursion mervs. Since there weren't any other volunteers, I finally took that spot just a couple of hours before rarebit left the office on a Friday. He had to rename the character I created in syntax in order to free the Toluca name (some people even spotted that character in a LE, there are some screenshots of it).

Then, rare published the new liaison list before I could even get a Merovingian tag, it was a bit scared that someone could spot me. Luckily, rare was quick enough to boost me to max rep, so it went smooth

After half a year, I got enough money to buy a second account and started my Nomatopoeic project. I got clearance from rare to present in in a live event, and let the players design her RSI. I played both characters for almost a year, doing some events with Noma that attracted a small number of people, but that I think they enjoyed enough for such a bizarre character :p

After a year, my personal situation was very different, and I could not afford to pay two accounts. And my mum lost her job... so I had to cancel Toluca's account. Thus, Noma became my LO character for a couple of months. Note that that also meant that I could not play my main anymore, but I was ok with it (i never really played it a lot after becoming Toluca).

Then, rare announced to LESIG that the storytelling was about to change, and we'd be liaisons no longer, I was sad since I lost my main and only had a lowbie alt (Noma) that would be no liaison. But I managed to convince support to swithc the unused from the Noma account towards the Toluca/Glue one. So I had to hurry and set up a Noma death mini-event (anyway, the way noma died was planed since the beggining).

After the end of Liaisons, I wanted to keep playing toluca and run some side stories I had in mind (Tranque might remember that I started talking about toluca's cousin), but the financial trouble made it impossible for me to keep paying even a single account.

Besides Toluca and Noma, I've been involved playing minor characters in over 30 LE with rare and others lesigs. I've also helped in a few mini-events organized by other lesigs, like dreami in vector and trantra/haigen in syntax. I was also involved in the sentinel, until my financial problems arose.

The biggest handicap in my lesig times was always language. I live in Spain and never had a chance to study English. MxO was my English 101, the few people that knew me since begging remember that I was almost impossible to understand. When I was invited to lesig 2.0, I created a "tex-mex" character, so when I was unsure on how to say something I could always fall back to Spanish   I think I managed to communicate mostly okay over the time. Specially since you American people speak really weird (I still love you anyway) :p

The other thing was the timing. Most events I had to organize for rarebit ended at around 5am in the morning for me. We could not start any sooner since Hattah could not attend (he did not attend at most, still, unfortunately). Still, they were a blast to organize.

Almost two years playing Toluca almost daily, I must say that she became my main and Glue is just my alt. It's a shame that real life did not let to continue play her regularly after this last summer. Those days were just the best ones in my whole online life.

Yay Toluca/GlueVane

Thanks for all your hard work, along with Merrit (whoever played her) you were my two favourite liasons, i remember when i first made my Merv character and after my Machine being snubbed you were very welcoming to me.

I also really liked Noma, it was a shame when she went to get deleted

I also liked how Noma once recognized my Machine character as being the same as my Merv character, something that alot of people refused to do lol

Two Thumbs up!

Not that I was playing the System Resource program that deleted her or anything. Gotta say, though, that event was fun. Getting flak from all the Mervs and being entirely indifferent to their grief was liberating for a Cypherite Liaison.

No, wait... It was the same. But without me giving smartarse quips.

If you don't know by now, I played the Cypherite Liaison, exivy.

One day I got an email in-game from recursion.rarebit and I was like, ????  It said "You've got a certain "CONFIDENTIAL" forum PM from me.  If you could read that and get back to me via PM, that would be great.  And don't mention this to anyone else--you'll see why once you've read it. =P"

I checked it and couldn't believe what I was reading.

I was part of the new 2.0 but arrived about a week after everyone else.  I really wanted an EPN position because I knew I could play that role well, but they were all taken.  I only told Sputteh that I was in LESIG, because we live together.  She ended up in LESIG also, so it all worked out anyway!

I decided to be a Recursion Cypherite! the complete opposite of what I knew!  Viraconrida was still in the crew and gave me a few tips before she vanished and the other Recursion Cyph never made an appearance.  So, I had all the Cypherites to myself! woot!  Eventually, I was the only active liaison for the cyph's and machines on recursion so I tried to involve the machines in as much as I could so they could feel loved too.  Kerevola helped me out a lot, though, and I appreciate her very much.

So, I got to enjoy NightTrace's thoughts on many many issues SMILEY and I tried to keep everyone from being bored at Camon Central.  NT and I actually got along very well.  He had a point of view many didn't understand but I could see it.

I ended up getting some partners in crime - Rejex and Stanten, and they were great.  They passed me up in leveling and both hit 50 before me!  I think we are the only org on all 3 servers to have all 3 liaisons at 50, plus Kerevola was 50 too.  Stanten turned into the leader of our crew.  He had great ideas and the time and energy to put into his character, even farmed Rejex and I patcher's bandana.  He was like XIV's big brother.

I had decided to give exivy a french background and brushed up on some of the language and had a good chat with an actual frenchy while we were running missions. I think goligoth might remember that lol.  She was friendly to most but liked to slap faces too.  Fenshy (fenshire) and I had a weird relationship that started when he invited me to his bachelor party, which was all zion, and I got naidian to come and she was all stiff agent and I was being crazy, having fun. Ever since then, fenshy always asks me to rejoin zion SMILEY and we have good banter.  Something else I remember was that I named ChloeAnne's perpetual orb, sudapop. Rarebit had named the bad guy for that event, Suda, and I made fun of it all night in crew chat.  Then when Chloe got the perp, she wanted to name it and I threw out sudapop and it stuck! There was Ebola, who stayed Cyph through thick and thin, a real trooper and not just an alt that logged on for events.  Merchant was my missioning buddy and seemed to always be on when I was.  I appreciate his help very much, since we weren't suppose to ask for it.  Atlasts is a sweetheart and I could always count on her.  Maybe I shouldnt name names but I think I did pretty good not showing favoritism to anyone.  We were a small group so I knew the entire organization pretty well.  I interacted with anyone that wanted to interact with me.  I really was in it to give the players an enjoyable time because I remember how much I enjoyed interacting with Keterina.  Thanks ManicV for your job with Ket, you left too soon but gave us a good villian with Systematica.

I have many fond memories with XIV and I had a lot of fun helping you all have fun.  I hope that I did a decent job, I wish that I had had more time back then to develop her character more and come up with some good side stories.  Hindsight is always 20/20.  I wish it could last much longer, as we had more ideas and more fun times planned. But, in the words of Trucidos, "It is what it is."

Thank you for everything.  Its been a great ride and I doubt I will ever have the chance to do something like this again in a game.  It was a truly unique experience in which I am greatful.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I figure there may be a few who would like to know. I am Vector EPN Acavaria. I was one of the members brought into lesig near the end. It was really good to work with Pentothal, Xensei and the EPN/Zion on Vector. I hope that the players enjoyed the final Rarebit event as much as we did.

I also feel a need to say a few things about lesig. It was great that this group existed and was able to enhance the experience for so many others. However, as I am now learning who the other members are it explains a lot. I always wondered what happened to Abra/Devistate.

There was so much more I would have liked to do. I had a ton of plans and different things for the future, but it became much more difficult where Rarebit left and the storyline was basically dismantled.

So to all of my friends, to all of Vector EPN, to Merovingians everywhere, to Syntax, to Lesig, to everyone who played the Matrix Online, I say

Thank You

Much Love

Take Care.
