Zion mission 11.3.3: Gut check
Tyndall:
Warrior, even with anti-override codes developed by Cypherites, the Machines are having serious problems dealing with Wright in Downtown. It hasn't been easy for us, either, but at least this gives us a fighting chance of locating the interface program while she and the Machines slug it out.
The latest override use has appeared in the heart of the Machine power structure: Park East. Under normal circumstances, the heavy Machine presence would make a search impractical, but Wright's overrides throw the usual rules out the window.
Mission phase 1:
Operator:
Looks like Tyndall was right. I don't see a whole lot of security in there.
Computer:
[white font] Soon.
That's gotta be from the interface program! Let's see if--
****! What's with this timing?
[An Agent appears in the area]
Agent Norris:
Mr. [name], you are un--
Oh, now that's just what we needed.
[Killing the Agent]
See if there's any data left intact on the computer.
[Getting the Data from the computer]
I knew it. The data's been completely scrambled by the override; another chance to find the program down the tubes.
Mission phase 2:
Operative, I'm getting a call from Ghost. He wants to meet you to meet him in Hampton Green.
Hope we aren't in trouble or something...
There's a lot of override background fuzz, but it looks like that immediate area is clear of problems.
Ghost:
Operative, I called you here because I've got a feeling Wright is nearby. I'm not sure where exactly, but probably somewhere in Hampton, high up; I've been picking up override traces on rooftops. If she's here, then the... program is probably here too.
Taking on Wright will be tough, but I'm not going to stand around when I know she's out there. I'm not ordering you to help search... What you do is up to you.
Those ant-override codes the Cyphs are supposedly giving their people in Morrell sure would be handy if we're actually thinking of going after Wright.
That's just how it is.
[Mission completed]
I wish we had been able to find the program, but having been unable to do that, a direct attack against Wright may be the only option, if she really is standing her ground in Hampton. Although, even if we had anti-override codes, her enormous power level would still present a massive obstacle.
So we have the logs done. Big thanks to Eval for participating.
Thanks a lot for the guys - I would just ask if there's any chance of screenshots, that would serve to increase the awesomnity of this thread - I'd particularly be interested to see if Veil appears as she does in the cinematic or if in the Matrix she has retained her classic appearance.

She still has her same look. Not a whole lot to screenshot in these missions that people already haven't seen/have been posted on the forums already really.
Well thanks for clearing that one up anyway, I guess Veil likes to have a different look in the real, probly handy for sneaking aboard HvCft too! I think that's it for what I feel I need to see really, but some people who haven't accessed the missions might like to see the Wright programs and stuff like the new look Kid etc.
Here they are then. The Kid with his scar:

Rarebit's response to Veil and Shimada's look in the real compared to within the simulation...

I had some fun coming up with how Veil and Shimada would look in the Real. I didn't want to give them radically altered bodies or anything like that, but Veil looks different without her glasses and makeup, she's probably a little leaner or more wirey, which was an attempt to give her a more "Real-istic" physique--showing muscles from hard exercise and a thinner face from maybe subsisting on synthesized chicken-flavor, and I thought it would be an interesting contrast too to give her short dark hair in the Real, vs the long white hair on her RSI, and her costume is black rather than white, and doesn't have any non-utilitarian additions like flowing coat tails or high heels. It is quite a bit different from the usual redpill garb, though, which also serves to illustrate that her source of equipment is not Zion.Shimada's costume is closer to the standard torn sweater and dark sailor pants Zion sported in the movies, except that I couldn't resist giving her more stylish pants that are closer to her RSI. I didn't change her hair length as much as Veil's--only shortened it a bit--but pulled it back in a ponytail so that it looks different--you see her forehead rather than her RSI's long even-cut bangs, which I thought gave her a more hm monkish or at least serious appearance--and more suited to wearing on a combat ship.

A good reason why Popper actually shows his scars in the Simulation instead of looking his normal self is probably down to his injuries making a deep mental scar as well as physical.

Thats what I figured as well. Our RSIs reflect how we see ourselves on a near subcouncious level, we don't just change them at will everytime we jack in, they're tied into our very pysches.
Apart from, you know, with RSI pills ¬_¬

Mind altering drugs? Lol. Yeah, just one of those game/Matrix universe compromises that occasionally have to happen!
Great point Vinia (and Cloudwolf too )! Thank you guys for pointing that out, I haven't thought about this myself at all.
To be honest it's a point that I had originally missed too when the cinematic had just been released. I was expecting a short haired Veil in game until ChloeAnn pointed reminded me about the real/simulation RSI situation! The Popper scarring was just a natural extention of it. Still no problem!
Really the only reason any of us look like we did as bluepills is because thats how we always thought we were, really. Then, even through the trauma of awakening, it's still how we see ourselves on some level (Case in point, Neo having hair in Matrix land but shaved in RL. Same with his melted eyes of DOOM.)
I guess it's part of that "your mind makes it real" thing where inuries sustained in the Matrix are reflected in the real and vice versa. There's that Matrix comic where the guy's leg's broken in the real and he has to really fight to stop it being broken in the Matrix too. I guess it's the same thing with the Kid, if he wanted to he could maybe 'focus' and the scars would fade away, but he probably doesn't feel he needs to do that
