If anyone was excited about the redeye archive mission reward, it was me, for obvious reasons. I busted my as$ all day to get this thing, and while its still cool, im very dissapointed. The effect is FAR to subtle, and its very hard to see it while whereing shades, unless your moving a great deal (like running in a strait line)

In short, the whole reason I wanted this was becasue I knew i could take some GREAT screenies with it, but as it stands with the super short use timer and the ultra long reuse timer, its next to impossible to get a good screenshot of it. But in anycase,  heres the best I could capture.

I dont know what can be done (maybe make the glow area bigger and brighter) but somthing needs to be done to make it more visable.

Im probobly not the 1st person to get the red eye, but im the 1st to post a screenie of it, so do i get credit? SMILEY

That really is way too subtle.

Yeah, no kidding. That's what Imax get for comparing a marble with a bowlingball to see which one gets noticed first SMILEY
Perhaps you should you use another gun, with a less flashy effect?

the gun has nothing to do with it. If i was useing  a rilfe, pistol, or machinegun it wouldnt make the glow anymore visble. The 1st time i activated it, i wasnt sure it was even working,  I then took off my shades and looked and could barly see it, not until i moved was it really visable at all.

Give me a sec I'll post a diffrent screenie.

Now the red beam does show up while running, it creats a blur streak,  but thats just not good enough for me. you can BARLY see it unless your running.

I was referring to the actual pew pew eye. I guess perpetual would be loads better (just because it's gonna be there for a while, and easily noticeable) but I would think that the game mechanics prevent it from going further that that without proper angling. This game is made of squares afterall.

The devs did say the effect wouldn't be as obviously visable as the other archive rewards and that you indeed have to move to see the effect. I mean, I see it on your screenshot and it looks quite cool to be honest.

edit: Just saw the screenie.

:o

I see what you mean SMILEY That's not funneyh. I agree, turn up the effect!

Reeverb, trust me. you have no idea how hard it was to get a screenshot where it actually showed up  (without running)

Hmmm that is too subtle. I'll probably end up grinding it out and getting it...but i suppose the fact rarebit said he'd give out a lot of the perpetual versions of them is a deterant.

I'm just pissed about the fact that it's just 'one' eye.

That is why I have no intention of grinding out the missions for that reward, at least not until occasions where there is nothing else to do or when I'm helping lowbies lvl up.

But I couldn't get a screenshot of it.
