Smoothly switching between Gunman and Rifle stances while in free fire

The way your stances automatically change during IL MA combat when using abilities associated with specific arts is quite smooth.  For example, when I have my Kung Fu stance active and I use Sky High Kick, I automatically switch to Karate.

However, this doesn't seem to be the case in free fire using my Gunman/Rifle Master combination.  I usually start an encounter with the Rifle stance loaded, and it prevents me from using Gunman abilites such as Pistol Evasive.  I am curious if the devs have said that this will continue to be the case, or if we'll see automatic switching between stances in free fire too.  Meaning I can fire my shotgun at an enemy, then use Pistol Evasive to gain the ballistic defence buffs, and go back to firing my shotgun.  I can do this if I switch to the Gunman Style mid-combat, but the 30 refresh on the Rifle ability prevents smooth switching...   I hope I've stated this clearly.

I know with Handguns loaded I can use rifle and smg abilities.  Havent tried it the other way around.  I have noticed if Handguns is loaded and I use a Rifle attack I dont get switched..it stays on Handguns but the attacks do work.

Hmm, I haven't tried loading handguns first then using the rifle attacks.  Thanks for the pointer, will check it out.

My experience with repeating freefire and  trying to use abilities is that you can't use an ability of a style that's different than the gun type you're freefiring.  So if you have rifles loaded and repeat-freefiring, it won't allow any pistol or SMG abilities to complete. The timer for them will fire, they just won't go through.  I believe it works for all styles, not just ballistics classes, as i was never able to get Iron Body or Serene Calm to work when i had pistols equipped in interlock.

This sounds like a pretty serious bug, especially since moves switch style automatically while in Interlock.

In order to switch between rifle and SMG abilities I know I actually have to have the Rifles or SMG's ability on the hotbar and click it to switch over.  Definately manual, and it won't let me use those SMG abilities until I switch over the free fire ability.  I'll try and get some screenies of this posted, my description probably isn't very good.

That's how I'm seeing it.  You can also switch styles automatically in free fire on the live servers.  Just to be sure I loaded a number of different fighting styles on test, and tried to use other styles' special abilities:

Primary stance             secondary combat ability
Rifle                               Handguns
Handguns                      Rifle
SMG                              Rifle
Rifle                               Aikido

In each of those dual loadouts, whatever I had loaded for secondary abilities was not able to be used in free fire without first switching to that particular fighting style first.  I hope this isn't the way it's going to be when CR2 goes live.  It can be lived with, but not nearly as smooth as the rest of the CR2 operative fighting mechanics.

Don't know if this is related, but I still get "You do not have this ability loaded" when trying to use Covering Fire with a gunslinger loadout (level 3SMILEY. Always get the error, but sometimes it fires anyway, and sometimes not. I didn't notice if I was in free-fire with my Lancet at the time or not...I'll have to check that.
