Wouldn't it be great if Matrix Online could end with a bang in terms of a massive, innovative, spectacular, story-related event like so many we have seen throughout these few years... such as what we saw in the frantic pace of The Race for Neo, the shifting allegiances of The Hunt for Morpheus, the ominous buildup and climactic battle of The Death of the Destroyer, or Rarebit's smaller but compelling, focused, and often intensely elaborate events that created more of an intimate and directly involved atmosphere between players and story characters?

Or you could just change the color of the sky and meatwad a bunch of folks.  That works, too.

It would indeed be grand.  One can hope.

Personally, I think any game that has made as many unprecedented efforts in persistent, ongoing, interactive storytelling as has Matrix Online must have an event that at least attempts to conclude that story-line in order to truly have a fitting end.  If this were to happen, there would be far less of the "bitter" side of the equation in the bittersweetness of this ending.  In fact, a real conclusion to this story-line would be a cause for joyous celebration, and I, for one, would be able to end my time here with no regrets if this were the case.  But I'll be here wishing the game a fond farewell, nonetheless.
