Weird sound problem

Just recently installed the game and having loads of probs with sound.

The in-game music works fine and I also get the background noises of the city. However, at first I only got occasional game sounds and some of the narratives would cut out early, Now, I get no game sounds at all (except for the first 15 seconds of logging in). Ive already disabled the 3D and high quality audio options but makes no difference.

Seems weird to get some sounds and music but not others - any help welcome.

Are your speakers set to the right config in Control Panel? (2.1, 5.1, etc)?

Also, you're not using Vista are you? Because that tends to give sound probs with MxO.. like everything else. <_< >_>
