This item would look right at home on a Cypherite. While the main points of the films were about a greenish tint and lack of blue in the simulation, I have to say that operatives have a lot more freedom right now despite the current conflict that means wearing blue. Obviously these blue jeans won't be abundant so the colour itself will still be very rare. Although I'd have thought that a blue item of clothing would be better as a LE reward item for a Cypherite.

Still, they look decent enough and those non participating people will still be able to get the more worn versions, although they're probably going to be another item to grind for. Somtimes I wish a new item of clothing would just be included in random drops and have standard non-amazing buffs. In fact sometimes I think the grind for items (Overdrives etc...) should also be in the loot tables from NPC's only incredibly rare, rarer than getting the effect you can get from Mobius, but eh, thats just me, imagine the joy of miraculously looting an Area K off an Unlimit, although any drops like that would probably be low on stability and no purity... /shrug

I have to agree 200% on the LE item reward comment Vinia. Although theres still the possibility of uniquely shaded bandanas someday. I'm hoping maybe that RSI picture of Rarebit playing around with the Bandanas on thet female RSI might be a good omen.

I don't know though I'm just excited to get the item regardless if you look at the list alot of Cypherite's are going anyways I think I'm registering tonight so it really is going to even itself out like that anyways SMILEY

Lets be brutally honest here.. anything that can invoke consumer based incentive to spend money on this game right now is a good thing at the end of the day all lore aside. Noones forcing the player base to buy these items theyl be able to get a grey version without paying.
If they said this would help the game, then I'd be all for it, but I just don't see that.
  • I like the idea of a new item
  • I like the idea that those going to fanfaire get an item
  • I don't like the idea of selling the item which goes against general Matrix rules, just to give it a selling point.

Well as Morpheus said some rules can be bent others can be broken SMILEY

I don't know I guess its just a matter of pure opinion I get your point I just think its time to lighten up on the whole rule based concrete wall canon that the matrix offers.

I have noticed alot of people who are not attending saying they will be buying the item which is what around 40 dollars? Ill be honest I don't have exact pricing but if you take into account some may even hook their alts up that's alot more than a few buddy keys or extra players that we all know and love subscribing. On top of that the biggest and most important thing is in my opinion that the item is just plain cool.

I have a gut feeling I probably wont be able to coherently remember the majority of my trip to Vegas. The bluejeans are a nice bonus.

I honestly don't see why it's such a big deal to have blue in the matrix.  C'mon... a color... breaking the foundations of the matrix?

It certainly can't be any worse than the whole re-insertion fiasco.

Also, for the record:  $40 just to get a certain color of jeans just isn't worth it.

I mean honestly, if we were going to be giving out this "blue" stuff, it should've been during the SleepWalker event for crying out loud.

Seriously, the blue sky t-shirts? People wear them all the time. That's just as much of a "Matrix-breaking" blue, and the jeans will probably even be on less people.

eye apologize for going all negative earlier. i was fustrated because we (this game) iz in a different place than it was a year ago and i thought that people who are going to fan faire were getting a new clothing item that i thought would be unavailable to rest of us.

i understand now that we will eventually get some jeans 2, they just wont be blue.

i can deal with that.

i am truly sorry for getting emotional.

I agree and I wouldn't pay $40 dollars for a pair of in game jeans either...

The $39 is for a one day pass to the SOE Fan Faire and we really wish that everyone that registers for it would attend...because it is alot of fun plus, you get to meet me SMILEY

The in-game item is our way of saying thanks by giving a reminder item to everyone who took time and money to come visit and have fun with us at Fan Faire. It isn't intended as a way for us to make extra money.

No belt for the men? I take it that's an issue with the model of pants rather than gender descrimination!

If SOE made a Web site selling clothing items and other goodies for use in MxO, and they listed "Blue Jeans" at $40, then no, I would not pay that, that's excessive. However in this case, seeing as how such a service does not exist and this is the ONLY opportunity to get the jeans, I *would* (and will) be paying this money, and furthermore I do think SOE *should* make extra money to support MxO!

I won't be attending Fan Faire (no money to travel now that my student loans are coming due SMILEY ) but I think the jeans are AWESOME and ME WANT! And, this may defy all logik and reason, but I don't honestly mind paying out a little extra to SOE in support of the game. There is nothing wrong with this in my opinion. If SOE feels that additional income from special clothing or item sales (with real $$) justifies keeping the game alive for another year, I would support that 100%. I think they should do MORE of this: set up a Web page offering special items that could be purchased and then emailed to your character. I don't think $40 for a pair of jeans is fair, but remember: you're NOT paying $40 for a pair of jeans, you're paying $40 for a day pass at Fan Faire, and that's TOTALLY WORTH IT! The jeans are just intended to be an incentive .. if you just want the jeans, fine, but keep in mind you are deliberately buying something of greater value and choosing not to accept it.

So yea, I <3 this game and I will take the opportunity to show SOE my support by shelling out $40 for a pair of jeans. They'll look awesome with my new Blue Sky top and hat <3

Me buying blue jeans for $40 = "These shoes cost $300! LET'S GET EM!!!" I almost did this for the verdigris too, Asagi and I did talk about it, but honestly the verdigris to me doesn't look nearly as cool as the blue jeans SMILEY (Altho it looks great on you ArchDuke!!)

I was just thinking that. Kinda sucks really even though I'm not getting them. As for FanFaire, I'll start putting some extra money into SOE when they start properly investing in this game and across ALL the timezones that play it too.

I saw this retrieval and thought hmmm..... Shall I register?... Then I snapped out of it and realised! Ra2za smell the coffee you can get how many beers for that much! haha!

I think it is a nice little incentive for people going or could go, But I for one am a GMT Player.

I personally think these kind of textures should be applied to all the clothing models! After all this proves high res textures can be applied in game right?

The GI'S were reviewed. So why cant the other items?

Anyways like I say not knocking the insentive just think some more <3 could be given to existing models....

Anyways thats my two scents!

Nice jeans! SMILEY
