There's an Exile program, a tarnished clown with razor-sharp teeth and wicked bile dripping from his lips. He goes by the name FetusEater and he consumes the adolescence of this world.
Okay, I made it up. But it sounds... fun.
My theory has always been that the Machines have been breeding humans via something like in vitro fertilization, then placing the embryos on those fetal stalks seen in the first movie, thus allowing the embryos to grow around the neural interface jacks (I think there's an essay that offered a possible scientific explanation for this, in one of those "The Matrix and philosophy" books, but I can't recall which one offhand). They probably have some way of collecting viable eggs and sperm from the humans in the pods, but at the risk of TMI, I won't go into that. In the meantime, a bluepill woman would just have the sensations of being pregnant piped into her brain, as well as undergoing all the physical fun stuff that goes with it. The child that she "gives birth to" in the Matrix has probably just been taken off the stalk by one of those harvester machines and has been inserted in an empty pod somewhere on one of the Power Plants, and that child is having the sensations of being born piped into their brain as well. Kind of sad and creepy and cold-blooded to think about...
To ZeroTolerance -- Heh, heh... considering how many wierd Exiles there are -- either player-created or canonic -- who knows but there might be something like that out there.
To GypsyJuggler -- Yeah, I kinda didn't cotton to the idea of my gal being cooped up at Merovingian outpost for nine months, either, which is why I came up with the alternate idea...
*CENSORED*!!!! *CENSORED*?!?!?!? What the HELL is with you woman and being pregnant?!!!?!? REDPILLS DO NOT GET PREGNANT!!!!! Ok, they can only get pregnant in the REAL, and it wouldn't show in the Matrix....maybe not even in the real, cuz being in a pod 1/2 your life probably killed ...you know................And EXILES don't have babies either, did you ever see Persephone or blooddrinkers running around with a huge *CENSORED* gut...I think NOT...so stop with the pregnant crazyness Ladies!

Best post ever.
I think it all depends on how they conceive the child. The dynamics of it have not been stated, so who knows. I don't think sex between two RSI's would conceive a child. however if one were conceived in The Real, or the Pregnant Redpill was realesed from the pod while pregnant (remember, we don't know how the machines made babies, so some liberties are allowed), then it should have some interesting affects

Quick! Someone get a doctor to tell us how babies are really created!
EDIT: Oh right, I had a real post to contribute, too.
As someone noted on page 2, MxO time is real time. Rarebit's said as much. If you are going to RP a pregnancy, then it'll be 9 months unless you take one of Zippy's suggestions. I can't imagine that jacking in would cause too much of a strain on the fetus unless you got into combat situations - anything causing the body to convulse in the chair is probably not wise. As to whether the pregnancy would show or not in the Matrix, that's up to interpretation - Neo still had hair when he first jacked in, despite not seeing any in the real, and the head jacks and other various little plugs certainly didn't show up when the redpills jacked in in the movies, either. Maybe get a body type 3 pill.

I'll keep this in mind when I go RSI Pill farming.

Yes, your lucky gal can be pregnant in the real and have your babe. In the Matrix, we know there were potential Neos who were children, but we don't see newborns or toddlers. How are you gonna rep them inside the sim? Or are you just gonna refer to (talk about) them until we can create child characters?
Probably just talk/post about the wee one.
:: Chuckles at Zippy:: It probably won't happen for a month or two yet. Our girl was recently widowed (so she's been told), so she's kind of got her fedora set on someone, if he ever thinks to reciprocate...
When the child is conceived, who is to say it would have a jack in the back of its head? I imagine the pregnancy would result in a Freebirth without the nasty body piercings the Machines provide. If the child can't jack in, there's no need to create a child RSI.
Or if the child can jack in anyway, what if the mother wanted to protect the child from being exposed to The Matrix until they're quite mature? If that were the case, the child would need 10 or so years to develop and I can't imagine MxO being around 10 years from now.
