Help your fellow humans experience fun within the Matrix. Go ahead and post your screenshots of being nice, however contradictory that may be. However, try to encourage them without the sole purpose of sucking them up into your faction; this is not intended to encourage selfish gain. Hopefully, though, by helping them you will be helping yourself.

Help them get what they need, empty your pockets and code archives; I have less than $i 500k for a reason (and it is not cyber prostitution)! If you are an RPer, turn them onto RP as well as PvP. If you are a PvPer, teach them of PvP as well as RP. If you are both, you are a prime candidate to let them experience the full potential of The Matrix. Try to sell everything, even if you are not a fan of it yourself!

Become a messiah for MxO. In here we are all zealous, religious, psychotic cultists, and it is your obligation to teach the newcomers of your cult or all the others. Uriah is the birth canal, and once they exit it it is up to us to show them how to walk and talk... and partake in occult activities.

Eh.

I've been doing this on and off for a long time, and it's definitely something worth doing.  No matter how many new players are brought into the game by trial keys, Station Launcher trials, etc., these players aren't anywhere near likely to stick around if they don't see anyone in the city for days on end.  I also think it's worth repeating that this should not be done for the purpose of recruiting into your faction/org., but simply for the welcoming and assistance of new players.

Hahah, this is all I do =) You'll find me in Uriah all the time helping out lowbies. Theres a reason I'm always out of $i myself, Shickle, and never managed to hit 50 in almost 16 months =P Ofcourse, I only offer faction invites after we've chatted / run missions 3-4 times. It's not a shameless faction recruiting drive!

So yeah, more power to the newbie helpers! Maybe we can make this a place to post names of the lowbies that we encountered last? That way the 'helpers' will know who to contact if they're sick of Mara C and looking for something to do.

That is a good idea. I ran into Linkrevenge at Mara C last night on Syntax. He's a returning player and currently level 20. I've been seeing a lot more lowbies lately.

I have made Uriah SW my default location and regularly send tells offering help to new players.  I heartily support the suggestion that more people should do so.  Good job Shickle.

I think I have said this in multiple threads already but making a more formally organized party around the Uriah hardlines isn't a bad idea. Using the /who fucntion, waving and saying hey is always a good way to start.

Loading up team recall to give them some hardlines and quick exp is another way to help them. Remember how hard it was to get around without hyperjump?

Maybe we could get a list of people for every server to give to mxospace so that incoming noobies will already know some friendly faces who will be willing to help.

A few more hugs and free trench coats given out can make a difference!

Didn't jack in yesterday for too long, so I couldn't help out much. Did, however, meet someone called ijar at Uriah SW. He is level 4 if I remember so if you see him, give him a shout =) This is Syntax, btw.

Also, Nintene - this, In-game Helpers, The Definitive Guide.

Shickle, want to edit the OP to reflect the names we'll be posting here? Might, or might not be a worthwhile exercise. Handle, and server would do I think.
