More Portal madness! " width="15" height="15" />Weebl & Bob: http://www.weebls-stuff.com/wab/cube/
Bit of a necro, but I've found some more Portal-MxO trivia.Ellen McLain, the woman who does... pretty much all the voices in the Orange Box (GLaDOS, the turrets, the TF2 announcer, Combine Overwatch), is married to the guy who does Agent Gray's voice, John Patrick Lowrie.
That sniper video is my favorite out of all the classes... Poor Demoman. In other news, with the Pyro update out now, everyone is a f***ing Pyro now. I only farmed until I could the extremely overpowered Flare Gun, and now it's back to being a Scout and zipping all over the place like a squirrel on crack. You can't be a sniper anymore with that flare gun, and you can't disguise as a pyro anymore because of the backburner. Good grief.
I'm either a Scout/Engineer/Spy. I'll generally change classes as they fit the current situation, but if you check my stats those are my top three played with Spy having a huge leap over everybody else. I love the new update, Pyro is the new OP, everyone likes new stuff. Also, the Hadoken taunt insta-kill is priceless.
BUT HOLY *poop*. When 80% of the other team is a *CENSORED* pyro, it's nearly impossible to play any of the above classes. lol I farmed enough of the achievements for all three (lulz bot farming), and I have to disagree the Flare Gun isn't overpowered, it's just annoying as hell. Of course, two flares can kill a sniper if they're not near a health pack with DoT damage. Any good sniper can side-step (or completely pull down their scope, which is the point to distract snipers) it though. The Medic update imo was better, because when you finally got the Ubersaw you had a feeling of accomplishment. This was just like, "lol 1, 2, skip a few, 16 22. yay". The fact you can juggle heavies as a pyro is ridiculous, but whatever. I loved the fact they nerfed Soldiers, as it's the most noob-friendly class ever. I don't know how many times I as a spy have hit their back with a knife, due to either lag or badly placed hit boxes it won't count as a backstab and then when the soldier sees the red indicator, he turns around and crit rockets me in the face while he takes like 50 damage from it while I'm 1-shotted. And I know a lot of people would kill me for saying this but Soldiers pre-update were only for noobs who just were like, "lawlrawkets" and would simply just spam them down tight corridors ranking up plenty of points due to assists from splash damage. Like say 2Fort, which is simply pointless to play on now with more than like 12 people due to stalemates, nothing is more annoying that players who pick Soldier and just camp around their base killing anyone they see, which they most probably will due to the tight corridor spaces in the map.
But besides my soldier rant, the next class that they will do anything with *has* to be spy. Whether it be an update or a "Meet The" video, mostly because they haven't done anything for Spy. Every other class has had either an update or a "Meet The" video. My guess would be though is that it will be "Meet The Pyro" and a Spy update, because Spy is the third least played class and they started to work on Meet The Pyro before they quickly switched to Meet The Scout.
I hate Pyros, and this stupid update. Urgh.
^^^ Basically sums up the below rant, so if you don't want to hear me whine and complain about the update with good reason, don't read it. Also, you'll notice my previous post was more, "lol update is kewl" and this is more, "*CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED*" mostly because I was just fooling around getting achievements above. What's done in actual gameplay is what really ticks me off.

So, Pyro's a little OP. In groups, the Pyro is devastating. And more over, people who play the Pyro just cannot seem to find a reason as to why it is so overpowered. Second most health the game, check. 3rd fastest player (only beating the soldier and heavy in speed) in the game, check. 12-20 foot reach with a highly over-powered gun due to the "no-drop off" effect on the flame DoTs, check. 335 Max health with a Medic, check. Not to mention the "Backburner" gun, which not only can crit normal, if you happen to have your back turned to a Pyro with this gun, it's a 100% crit chance which means insta-*CENSORED*. If you're playing a 125-150 health class, you will die instantly, and if you somehow survive, no drop-off means you die anyways. Want to play a spy? Think again. Not only are the Pyros annoying and OP'd, they will catch you on fire when they don't even try, which then means you're screwed.
Which comes to my conclusion. Valve said these weapons were to be.. "alternative weapons, not buffed new weapons, that are unlocked by Achievements" which doesn't make sense. You add a 100% crit chance to a gun, and then you give it a +50 health bonus for "survivability"? What is this nonsense. Oh, but the balance is it that it can't do the air compression attack? Well who the *CENSORED* cares about that when you've just destroyed the entire opposite team while you're waiting for them to come out their own spawn. Gold Rush just makes me die a little inside everytime I see 8 Pyros with Medics charging through the door just completely destroying everything.
So what's the only way to counter a Pyro? Well, that my friends is YET ANOTHER PYRO. YES, THAT'S THE BEST PART. Pyro's are 80% resistant to flames, so that's what you get. A bunch of OP'd classes, that are ineffective against each other, but JUST COMPLETELY *CENSORED* everyone else. THIS IS BALANCE, OF COURSE.
I hate the Steam Community so *CENSORED* much sometimes. "hurr, lol pyro is balanced, u r use teh soldier against pyros and u teh win" Well with the new update, no longer can you fire rockets at your feet, not like it matters, you die after you shoot like 2 rockets when there's 3 Pyro's after your *CENSORED*. Are you a Heavy? Forgot to spin up your gun? Well don't worry, by the time you've spun it up, you're dead instantly, yay. Oh, of course Engineers with their Sentries can kill the Pyros. BUT WAIT, IT'S NOT LIKE PYRO FLAMES GO THROUGH SENTRY GUNS. OH WAIT, THEY DO. YES, YOU WILL DIE IF YOU STAY NEAR YOUR SENTRY WITH A PYRO NEAR IT BECAUSE YOU ONLY HAVE 125 HEALTH AS OPPOSED TO 335 HEALTH MR. PYRO. If you don't live and the Pyro dies yet the Sentry lives, you have 12 seconds of praying to do before someone kills your nearly dead sentry. If you build it too close to a corner, guess what, Pyro's with their over-healthed selves can just go through a level 3 sentry with a half-circle strafe and survive to kill your sentry and the rest of your stuff. So it's basically at this point, why even *CENSORED* bother.
THIS IS BALANCE, I SWEAR IT.
But no, the *hamsters* over in the Steam community think that this is "balance" and that they are "not overpowered." OH WAIT, DID I MENTION THE AIR-COMPRESSION ABILITY? Two Pyros can sit their juggling you, and weight comparison does nothing. You can send an Uber-heavy as far away as a 1 health'd Scout. Oh but don't worry, this doesn't come with the BackBurner, not like you'd need it anyways.
"but, but teh snipers, u win then" OH WAIT, NO. I HAVE A GREAT IDEA. LET'S GIVE THE *CENSORED* PYRO, A *CENSORED* LONG RANGE WEAPON, YES, THE SO ACCLAIMED "Best Short Range Class" IN THE GAME, GETS THE FLARE GUN. What does the Flare Gun do? It's a fast, demo-grenade that doesn't abide to the law of physics. Yes, you can send the *CENSORED* flare half-way across the map in a pre-determined arc that annoys the hell out of Snipers. If you land two on a Sniper, they're dead due to DoT's if they don't have health near-by. Granted this Flare-gun replaces your shotgun, but AGAIN. WHY DOES IT MATTER WHEN THE BACKBURNER MAKES IT EVEN EASIER. "Flame them and then run away with a shotgun to finish off your enemy like the old days? *CENSORED* that, let's just burn 6 flammable people and kill them in a matter of seconds."
"keep ur distance, lool" Oh right, distance. IN A GAME WHERE THE TWO ENEMY COMPANIES BUILD THEIR FREAKING BASES RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER?! WAT.
...
-_-

God I hate Pyros, and this stupid update. Urgh.
Where is my scout update?!Btw, wouldn't it have made a hell of a lot more sense if they just did one big update instead of having everyone flocking to one class each time they decide to finish one?Spies are going to get rocked once theirs hit.
I don't think people are willing to wait an entire year without content.
