I've got some awesome clothes for Duelist/Rifleman... Female though.

Good strategy? Use Dual Pistol Dash to interlock em and enrage em, so
they can't roll out... Use Pistol Aerial to stun them, then try and
off-balance them so you can use your more powerful moves like Pistol
Whip and Dual Pistol Point Blank. Dual Pistol Execution is awesome too,
does a lot of damage, requires stunned.

Retaliate Tactics are great for Duelist, so gather up any clothes buffed with Retaliate Tactics bonuses.

With my Duelist setup, I have 12 extra pts (dress w/ 9pts Retaliate Tactics, Bedlam Dual Pistol w/ 3 pts Retaliate Tactics).

However, I think the best gun for Duelist is definitely the Lancet.

I like the Lancet too.  But you have to have some Bedlam guns for the dual specials.

Just found a site the other day called mxoclothing.com... basically
it's a place for Coders to go and list what clothes they can make so
that if you're looking for a new wardrobe of a specific look, color, or
buffs, you can search the database and see who to /tell in-game. Still
on the small side, but I've been adding clothes to it every day and I
know several other people have as well.

And now for the shameless plug part... although I don't have
duelist-boosting clothes available yet, if you're on Syntax and looking
for other types of clothes as well, check out my catalog. :robotvery-happy:

Well if you a male, I can't really help you on the clothing.

However Duelist strategy is something I can help you with.

This will apply when you hit level 50.

First thing's first is to load all of Duelist, and up to Aikido Master.  Duelist/Aikido has worked the best for me.

Set up your hotbar like this (if you want).

  1. Disarming Shot

  2. Covering Fire

  3. Dual Pistol Dash

  4. Maki-Otoshi

  5. Pistol Aerial

  6. Dual Pistol Execution

  7. Pistol Barrage

  8. Counter Throw

  9. Calm Mind Calm Body

10. Evade Combat

For Duels against another Duelist

Step One: Bring up your Evade Shield

Duel Start

Step Two: Disarming Shot - You don't want someone shooting you.

Step Three: Break their evade shield

Step Four: Covering Fire - Lower their combat tactics

Step Five: Dual Pistol Dash - Enrage them so they can't roll out.

Step Six: Maki-Otoshi - Make them powerless, you don't want them hitting you with abilities

Step Seven: Power Attack - Armor Piercing, it will ignore more of their toughness.

Step Eight: Pistol Aerial - This is the set up for Dual Pistol Execution as it stuns them everytime.

Step Nine: Power Attack - Armor Piercing, it will ignore more of their toughness.

Step Ten: Dual Pistol Execution

If they don't roll out, repeat steps six through ten.

For Duels against MA.

Step One: Bring up your evade shield.

Duel Start.

Step Two: Break their shield.

Step Three: Covering Fire

Step Four: Pull them into interlock and immediately use Maki-Otoshi

Step Five: Power Attack

Step Six: Pistol Aerial

Step Seven: Power Attack

Step Eight: Dual Pistol Execution

Step Nine: Grab Attack (repeat this step until they are off
balance.  keep in mind the timer for Maki-Otoshi's powerless is 12
seconds)

Step Ten: Counter Throw - It causes confuse which is a really good status effect.

Repeat from Maki-Otoshi

For PvP

For the most part you want to concern yourself with Hackers and other
Duelists.  In PvP, anyone who is using MA is someone who's made
their RSI for MA (usually), and will most likely have a high Perception.

The reason you want to focus on Hackers is because ranged attacks are
the bane of Hackers.  If your Duelist tree is leveled entirely,
and you have a good Focus score, 9 times out of 10 you will interrupt a
Hacker's incoming program even if their Concentration is at 50.

At level 50 if you're going to continue being a Duelist make sure you
ALWAYS have Duelist loaded, the force combat and handgun tactics are a
must.  By the by, handgun tactics are added to your Melee Combat
Tactics, and your Ranged Combat Tactics.

And if you're going into PvP as a Duelist, go in as a straight
Duelist.  Do not load any other Operative abilities and keep your
awakened to a minimum.  Load up as much viral deflection from the
Hacker tree as possible, and make sure to wear Dodge Ranged and Viral
Deflection clothing.

At level 50 VD maxes at 400%, and a decent, and feasible dodge ranged
score is anywhere from 35-60%.  Add Hyper Dodge and some Upgrade
Master buffs to that and you might as well be stopping the
bullets/knives/children in mid-air.

Hope this helped a bit.

Thank you much, I aim to please.  Yes yes Lancet is your
friend.  Here's another neat little trick.  If you equip your
lancet into your weapon slot in your inventory and use your Bedlams in
Melee, you'll still get the Focus buff from the Lancets.  Bedlams
have a chance to blind which is a wonderful status effect in interlock,
since it lowers their attack rolls.  Stun also dramatically lowers
their combat rolls.

More things you may or may not know.

MA

Speed Attack

Power Attack

Grab Attack

Duelist

Retaliate Attack

Aimed Shot Attack

Burst Fire Attack

So those pants you have that buff Retaliate tactics, those are your
blue attacks in interlock with Duelist.  So on and so on with
Aimed Tactics and Burst Tactics.

I'm pretty certain that blue is Retaliate, I'll look
into it more though.  Thanks for bringing that up, I hate giving
out bad information.

There is a lvl 16 green shirt that gives +10 to Handgun Tactics and +10 to Retaliate Tactics (Retaliate is the green button).  This shirt is awesome in Interlock since Duelist is interlock based.  For ranged, you will need to get the lvl 20 or 24 shirt that gives +9 to RCT (Ranged Combat Tactics), which applies to all forms of long ranged weapons including assassin's knife throwing skill.  Since you will be interlocking and disarmed a lot during interlock, which happens about 90% of the time, you will also need to get yourself a +9 MCT (Melee Combat Tactics) pants which you can get one at lvl 20 as well.

You will also want to put a hefty stat points into "Focus" to boost your RCT capability.

If you are a lowbie, best to invest into all the dodge ranged clothing you can find, anything that gives +10 to dodge ranged since most enemies shoot and and you can dodge most of their shooting while kicking some buttage.  Since mobs now don't auto interlock you anymore and just shoot.  Dodge Range is a perfect saving grace from having to eat a lot of health pills.  Try to get at least +24-34 in total.  The more you can dodge, the better off you'll be in surviving the lower levels.

Avoid using Consistent Technique or Precise Blow abilities under the Awakened tree.

Do use the close combat range ability for melee as well as Multi-Fighting.

Do use enhanced dual handguns when you can get them, anything that can do DoTs (Damage Over Time) or Stun.  They help a lot.

gr8 advice, just wanted to note
that once u engage a mob in freefire (ie shooting them or using a viral
attack) they can and probably will interlock u.

I forgot to add one more advice to my post above...

*** Do use tactic boosters when you can against 3 chevron mobs.  Sometimes, they get some high rolls and can beat your arse down, sometimes they get crappy rolls.  But when they get the lucky rolls, tactic boosters help rectify that situation in interlock.

*** One more thing, when I mean range, I meant range (as in non-interlock).  Sorry for the confusion.
