Right I dont know how it happened exactly but I'll tell you what I know..

(dont care it works good) I have a radeon x300 (550 series) graphics card.. Ive been running MXO ever since i got the computor last year so there been no probelms before..

I was looking for a driver update and went to install the new 6.1 driver fro ati.com.

There was a problem right near the end of the installations, it' said:
"Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running set up."

So what i gather, this VGA thing has been knocked off somewhere along the line and now my computer cannot accept ati drivers ad it needs the VGA first...

Anyone had any simmilar problems and knows what to do..?? I ant jack in now and I'm worried SMILEY

All help appreciated greatly

Well, that's odd. here's what I would try:

1. Get the Catalyst Uninstaller from ATi.

2. Get the 6.2 drivers released by ATi yesterday.

3. Get the Microsoft .NET Framewrok from Microsoft.

4. Save all of these to your Desktop.

5. Stop doing anything important. No really, save your work and close everything.

6. Run the Catalyst Uninstaller program.

7. You will probably need to restart the machine.

8. Let Windows detect and install it's own driver for the display.

9. You may have to restart again.

10. Install the .NET framewrok.

11. You may have to restart the computer.

12. Install the Catalyst 6.2 drivers.

13. Restart the computer again- even if you are not prompted to.

14. Start the game.

To get the Catalsyt uninstaller, look under the NOTES section above the driver download on ATi's website. It's on the actual page you would download the drivers from.

Thank you VERY much for you reply.
As I have said in another post, ATI, DELL, and SoE are working on this.... i have tried all different combinations.. and have tried using the catalyst uninstaller, the main problem is something to do with the VGA controller/driver, and I cant find anything to do with setting this up.

Any help appreciated, thanks mate

See my other post. But, the steps above are the best way to install drivers and cause the least amount of problems.

"I found that your PC is still using the onboard video as primary display device. Could you please contact vendor and let them make the "Name RADEON X300/X550 Series Secondary" device as Primary."

what does he mean?? and how do i do this??

That does not sound right. However, if you sould post the parts of your DXDIAG down to through the Sound devices, I can try to figureout what that other Tech means.

Are you using a Laptop?  Because if you are I would reccomend Downloading DHMOD 3, it fixes that exact problem with the ATI drivers, or at least to my knowledge it does ::smileyhappy:
