I was out of town during the Novalis II
event (where we were introduced to Neurophyte and the rest of the
crew), so I didn't get to participate.  As part of reviewing the
story, I decided to work through the puzzle that reveals Neurophyte's
final location.  Since I got such a good response to the last puzzle,
I thought I would ask here again.  This time I think I've got it
figured out, so I'm just looking for confirmation.  Here's what I
came up with:

Puzzle: Proxy Server

Neurophyte's Location: Top of Kalt Chemicals Building in Kedemoth

FIAT Code: ciohhafi

Can anyone from Proxy let me know if this was the correct answer?

If anyone would like me to show how I came up with that answer, let me know.

Soz cant confirm it...

but on a sidenote on Linenoise neurophyte died and zion got the kilcode
(which most of us decompiled cos it appeared as a Gi dress or summin in
our inventory and only turned into the kilcode afew weeks later!
Screwin SMILEY )

Anway i hear the other 2 servers we merged with on syntax saved her so
i presume if the story does continues were probably gonna see her
again! i understand afew story threads may be jumbled up etc but if and
when the LET return be good to have a synopsis clarifying the exact
storyline position before we all move on together here on syntax.

I was inactive during this event and had no idea how the puzzle was
solved. I would love to hear how you worked it out, and how others
managed to solve it too.

Did part of it involve having to determine where in the 'Real' Neurophyte was located? How did people find that out too?

Actually, there were two puzzles.  The first puzzle
involved finding Neurophyte in the Matrix and in the "Real", as you
said.  Geography was never my strong suit, so finding her in
the Real was never gonna happen for me.  I was on the right track
with the phi/pi stuff, but didn't quite get that either.  I found
a possible solution here, but I'm not sure if anyone actually found her in the Matrix, or if they were supposed to (maybe it was an email thing).

By the way, I think the 293 degree thing meant she was indoors, at least according to Kelvin.

I'll put together my solution on the second puzzle soon.

Ok, here's how I came up with my solution to this puzzle.  I'd
still
like verification from someone that solved it during the event.
Keep in mind that the clues/answers were different on the various
servers, but the basic puzzle was the same.  This possible
solution is for Proxy.  To start, we'll figure out Neurophyte's
location:

For you who see the world through proxy,

A four place number that combined is negative nine. The first digit is unity. The second digit is nought.

This is her final coordinate.

And will be the top of a building in Richland.

This shows us how to figure out the final, or z, coordinate.  They
give us the first two digits: 1 (unity) and 0 (nought).  The
remaining two digits must add up to eight, so that all four digits
combined equal nine.  Since we'll be on top of a roof, we have
some room to maneuver, so the exact digits are not that
important.  In fact, the first two digits already puts us within
100m of the location, but to keep things simple, let's try 17 as the
last two digits.  What is important is that the digits combined equals negative nine, so our z coordinate will be negative: -1017.  Now, how about the first two coordinates:

And will be the top of a building in Richland.

All of the coordinates of her location, added together...

Equal nothing. Zero. Nought.

Ok, this tells us that since our final coordinate is -1017, our x
& y coordinates will have to add up to 1017.  1017 + (-1017) =
0.  With me so far?

At this point I headed to z:-1017 in Richland and looked at the
map.  Kalt Chemical towers was hard to ignore, especially for
those that solved the first puzzle, so I headed over there to see if
it would work.  Sure enough, x: 808, y:209, z:-1017 is on top of the
building and fits the equation: 808 + 209 + (-1017) = 0.  If you
had chosen a different z coordinate, say -1044, you still probably
could have found an x coordinate that worked on top of the
building.  Again, I wasn't there to confirm this, and there may
have been other possible buildings, but to me Kalt just makes sense.

Speak your word at this location, after the seventeenth hour in this MegaCity.

Now that  we know the location, how do we figure out the "word"?

Your Fibonacci number, which you will render into FIAT code...

Is as many as the marble pillars one one side of a building in Stratford Campus.

Run your hand along their length, rough stone alternating with smooth marble.

Add to the number of pillars twice the streetlamps at Yeung Park, cold iron at the edges of pavement.

This is your Fibonacci sequence number, and the number you must convert to FIAT code.

Your word will have eight letters.

Uh.... ok.  At this point I think:  I don't know much
about "Fibonacci" or "FIAT", but I do know how to count, so I head to
the specified locations.  I count 16 marble pillars at Stratford
Campus and 11 lamps at Yeung Park.  I'm supposed to double the
number of streetlamps, so I come up with 16 + (11 x 2) = 38.  Uh
oh.  I can tell from the clue above that I'm supposed to have an
8-digit number, and there's no way I can get 8 digits out of these two
numbers.  Time to take another look at the puzzle.

The code word is derived from a number Fibonacci's sequence...

The twelfth Fibonacci sequence number, 144, is rendered into "add."

The fifteenth Fibonacci number, 610, is rendered into "fao."

The thirty-third Fibonacci number, 3524578, is rendered thus into "cebdegh."

Ah hah!  What I'm really looking for is the thirty-eighth
Fibonacci sequence.  Now, what the hell is a Fibonacci
sequence?  Google time!  Using this calculator,
I can see that the 38th sequence is 39088169, and it's 8 digits.
Yes!  All I have to do is convert the number to FIAT code using
the method described above:

39088169 =

ciohhafi

That's it.  My understanding is that this word
was to be spoken to Neurophyte at the top of Kalt Towers, and whoever
spoke it first got the credit for saving her.  Of course, with so
many people on the roof, that caused some problems, but that's another
story.

Actually, the word only causes her to become visible.  Afterwards she asks several questions about the Novalis II crew in order to determine who she can trust.  Here's a transcript from when she was saved on Method ...

[Area] Neurophyte: Why can't I see anything?

   [Area] Neurophyte: You're killing me....

   [Area] Neurophyte: Stop....

[Area] Neurophyte: I can't hear anything....

[Area] Neurophyte: What the--? What's going on? Where am I?

[Area] Neurophyte: So many people! Who are you?

[System] You target [Neurophyte] the level 16 Utility Coder.

   [System] [Neurophyte] is friendly.

[Area] Neurophyte: So many people! Who are you?

   [System] Neurophyte vomits.

   [Area] Neurophyte: I don't know who I can trust. I don't feel so good . . .

   [Area] Neurophyte: Listen...

   [Area] Neurophyte: I'm hurt.

   [Area] Neurophyte: Bad.

[Area] Neurophyte: If you know my crew, I guess I can trust you . . .

[Area] Neurophyte: Where is she? My best friend . . . I've been looking for her.

   [Area] Nicks: Al3xandra?

   [Area] Neurophyte: Yes, Nicks.

[Area] Neurophyte: We were going to go see one of Lelan's movies . . . which one?

[Area] Caladein: Deadth of a Warrior Neuro

   [Area] Neurophyte: Yes, Caladein.

[Area] Neurophyte: There's no power. Must be something wrong with the reactor, who did I need to tell about the reactor?

   [Area] Eidolonal: Oniyuzu.

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you, Eidolonai.

[Area] Neurophyte: And it's cold. So cold . . . I can't remember who to ask about turning up the heat.

   [Area] Calliente: Odran

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you, Calliente.

[Area] Neurophyte: WanNi never wanted to be around Morpheus. It was so strange . . . do you know why?

[Area (shout)] HardDrive110: he killed his father!

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you HardDrive110

[Area] Neurophyte: So sad, captain's always so sad. She lost her brother. What was his name?

   [Area] Calliente: Robert

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you, Calliente.

[Area] Neurophyte: I hear rattling . . . it reminds me of something, but what?

   [Area] Calliente: Vashuo

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you Calliente.

   [Area] Neurophyte: One more question.

[Area] Neurophyte: Mikan, I'll be right behind you . . . No, I shouldn't use that name, I forget sometimes. What was your handle again?

   [Area] Sneaker: Oniyuza

   [Area] Neurophyte: Thank you Sneaker.

[Area] Neurophyte: Ahhh, one more question.

[Area] Neurophyte: I must know who to trust.

[Area] Neurophyte: Am I at Kalt Chemicals? Who was telling me about an interview here?

   [Area] CYL0N: Vashou

[Area] Neurophyte: I will follow your organization

[Area] Neurophyte: I hope I can trust you.

   [System] Neurophyte looks around.

[Area] Neurophyte: What's that? Something on the back of my neck!

[Area] Neurophyte: Am I being jacked out in the Real?

[System] Operator: The Machines have claimed the lost operative, Neurophyte.

[System] Operator: Neurophyte allowed a Machine crew in the Real to jack her out. She is now safe in their custody.

[System] Operator: The Machines will now have a difficult choice to make.

Neurophyte didn't simply "die" there.  Zion chose to murder her, to obtain the killcode.

SuperJenius, I remeber Gaspar actually was the one to save Neurophyte at this event on Proxy, so He'd be the one to ask for the Proxy solution.
