So the Morpheus Sim didn't appease him, which makes one person wonder why the machines are trying to appease him.

Also, I agree, *CENSORED* the Intruder for cutting off The Architect in mid sentence.

I'm glad nobody mentioned my little theory SMILEY

I've just spent thirty minutes arguing about this with PN. Personally, i think The Intruder is Commander Lock, bit out there but some things I noticed could point to him.

Now remember, this is just an speculation. I'm not actually SAYING it's Lock.

OK, first things first, the voice, sounds an awful lot like Locks to me if you try to listen past the "Transformers" voice.

Secondly, The Intruder,  rumours that he is a free-born, like Lock.

Thirdly, Lock goes missing and The Intruder turns up.

Fourth, Not really a speculation about Lock, more of The Intruder. He asked "Where is the one i want?", if we assume that is Neo, then sooner or later he'll find the "shell" of him. Then perhaps he will go after someone that is closer to Neo. Perhaps Sarah Edmontons? I doubt that she would be mentioned and then just written off as a coincidence, perhaps the idea of her has been saved for now?

Fifth, my final and most bizarre theory but still sort of possible, "You are required." Perhaps Lock wen't insane with the power that he now perhaps has? Perhaps the Machines were planning to use him and he started attacking them because of his state of mind?

Anyway, that's just my theory, t'is also the end of my insane rant. Please for the love of god! Don't flame me for my theory, i'd appreicate replies but not flames.

Thank you.

Guys, I don't think that was actually the Morpheus sim to be honest. I got the impression that might have been another one created by the Machines to lure him out. We already know they have the capability because they tried to do it to get the codes to Zion's database awhile back. Because as you say, if the Architect can just port in, then why didn't he do it already.

The General created a Morpheus sim to fool people into starting the war up, but it became too smart basically.

I have to wonder... Could the intruder be the higher iterations Architect? The Machines using a man to build the next world for the future of man? It would seem from the way he speaks to him that he either has more authority or more power than the Architect of our iteration, either that or he's cocky...

Also... the Architect, while yes.. he's on the skinny side, does not seem too happy at the end... he looks extremely annoyed...

I'm not at all surprised the Intruder dared to talk to the Architect like that. He's extremely arrogant, can manipulate programs at will, and has some sort of power over the Machines in the Real. They can't touch him.

I like the idea of him being a new Architect. It fits in with the prodigy stuff, and fits in with what the Architect said about him. Could also explain - assuming he's Mystery Man - why he's sat in front of a monitor watching the world go by: the Machines are teaching him about the current global situation.

Though why he'd get so interested in finding Neo (or whoever he's looking for), I don't know.

Yea but the machines Morpheus Sim was a failure, so they destroyed it.

I agree with Archangel, it seems like the machines may have created this sim, and the intruder saw straight through it.  I think he is still looking for the real "Morpheus Sim."

To Metalogic:  It makes sense that it may havee been reincarnated for this purpose.

And we took great pleasure in doing so. Well, I did.

I'm pretty sure the sim in the cinematic is the General's. The Machines' sim was just awful. Even if we didn't have to get it into a particular mindset to break the encryption, it was no good for anything else. It wouldn't even have been able to say what it said in the cinematic.

I thought the Generals one got deleted, and this one was the one the Machines made by using his memorys and stuff.

i do hear that hint of locke in the intruders voice but that just doesnt add up, of course i am missing some story elements from my time /afk.

one thing bothering me, and feel free to bash me but not in a spam way,

why do i feel like the intruder is a lost, perhaps even amnesiac, Neo that is stuck between a role as the one to build a new matrix and the one of this matrix. long shot but it wont quit creeping through my thoughts.

The Machine version that was created to attempt to break the archive encryption and failed was the version that got retired. The one in the cinematic is most likely the General's version.

I don't believe that it is Lock, even if he did manage to hack his way into the simulation, the code is from the next iteration. Plus if it's looking for some fragment of Neo then that goes against Lock's mindset before the truce... Granted he may have changed during the truce.. but I doubt he would ever become a strong believer...

This might seem silly but what if the intruder is actually on some kind of qest set by the machines to become the new architect, who will create a flawless new matrix which won't need the One and won't have the 1% of people leaving...

My two cents

Regardless of what intruder is looking for. I think its that guy from silence of the lambs. He needs a people suit.

I think Intruder takes over architects place; architect kills mervo takes his place. Morph sim takes floods job.

It would be nice to see mervo go.

Wishfull thinking FTW
