Normally, I really wouldn't venture into anything like this & I've no intention of debating anything; Just here to voie my rather humble opinion....

I understand the frustration & the urge to shout from the rafters to gain attention & ideally action from SOE, or whoever. But, I think alot of folks need to take a step back & understand that IF anything was going to happen, it either will in the coming future or if it was going to, it already did; I think alot of the presumtions that SOE will 'starve the beast' untill there's no-one left to leave could be true...

If that were so, Rare's last words could be more true that anyone realises; The future really is in our hands, while were here - MXO will be here. With little more than time / imagination there's little that can't be acheived (outside of altering the game itself) so we should all just be glad we still have it. Like many, if not all of you, I truly <3 MXO. If nothing else, Sony bailed it out when Lith was going south. THAT is something we should be thankfull for, because if we're not, why do we still play?

I, for one, play because I love it. Because, like many I'm an optamist that genuinely believes that if we all log in more & DO more towards making our own live events etc - this will help solve the problem; (as stated elsewhere) more people in-game = more new people will stay = more money being generated, which (in theory) would then get the attention you/we are all screaming for....

imho, it's in our hands. Not some unknown corporate peeps in SOE. If they were going to pull the plug, it would have happened already. So, I agree with what you/we all want - I just think we should go about getting it differently, as above;

Lets enjoy & embrace what we have & be thankfull that we have it.

<3 all,

Ras.

Well said and I would like to call attention once again to the bolded statements.  Everyone who has ever played this game, and still ventures to the forums, must resub immediately! New players jack in and give it a try!  We must pack the servers and force Sony to not ignore this game.  MXO can't die on our watch.

SOE Bean Counter:  "Sir!!  Look at this financial report!"

Smedly:  "My God, look at all the revenue that the Matrix Online is generating!  This is amazing!"

SOE Bean Counter:  "I know!  It's up 80% from after we laid off Ben!"

Smedly:  *sits back in his leather chair, and pulls out a cigar*  "Well, it'll certainly be nice to have a little extra dough for our guys working on the Agency.  We should use this and have a retreat for them."

SOE Bean Counter:  "I'll let accounting know so they can prepare for the expense, sir.  Did you want any of those funds going to a search for another developer?  We also might need someone to maintain the servers.  There's so many players, the servers are becoming a little unstable."

Smedly:  *laughs through a cloud of cigar smoke*  "Are you insane, man?!  This game makes money, and we didn't even have to put a cent into it.  The players can do as they've always done and make up their own content.  It's like a sandbox!  As for the servers...  have Bob from Planetside swing by there on his lunch break or something.  Just to see if they're still up.  If they go down, they go down.  Then we won't need to worry about it anymore."

Actually, that isn't part of my job description really... I just do it because I thought you guys enjoyed it. If no one enjoys my visits I can stop doing it.

Wow, great attitude for a dev to display. Way to really breathe confidence into a game your company has all but abandonned. Good job on threatening to take your ball and go home.

As for everyone else:

I'm a former MxO player who left when it seemed to me a while back that SOE was slowly draining everything good from this game. I read the forums from time to time to see how the story is going, but hopped on this time to find out there is no story anymore. If you're wondering how I'm posting, it's because I'm on Station Access, at least for the next few days. I doubt I'll be coming back to an SOE game any time in the forseeable future, or ever again, once my account runs out. My condolences for the loss of your story content. And the loss of any reasonable form of dev communication. What you're doing doesn't count in the Customer Service business, Virrago. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though, and guess that your bosses are gagging you from outright telling the MxO playerbase that they won't be getting anything substantial ever again.

Nice try, but SoE got Admin invulnerability. Their meatwad can 1-hit kill the servers anytime they want =/

I haven't seen one of the mystery spawns at Mara, but it's not for lack of trying. Keep up the good work, Viraggo and don't let the nay-sayers get you down.

Pay no attention to him, Virrago.  It's greatly appreciated and encouraged.  In fact, you should take over the city some time with uber spawns.

What Garu said (including the spawns ), having you show up is pretty much the only interaction we have with staff now, so it's appreciated a hell of a lot.

Its not in his job discription because he is not a Dev, he is SOE community relations or something SMILEY But he's been at it for a while, so he knows how to relate with the community.
