Congratulations to Zion and EPN, they did the buisness and saw it through and were deserving of their victory. Nobody can deny this.

Thanks to my team-mates Illyria, Mathalos and Sontag for putting up a fight too. It's a shame Sontag and Mathalos lost their stability at vital times in the battle.

I maintain if the Mervs hadn't bottled it, we'd have had an even more interesting battle. Alas, that is not the nature of the Mervs.

((Serious props to the BC for putting up with all the crap in area, and having the patience to deal with everything so well. Fantastic. ))

Well done, everyone.  I'm glad that our organizations' faith in us was not misplaced.  EPN's got some *CENSORED* good fighters on their side, and it was real nice to work with them.

Thanks for keeping Lock safe, and taking care of him while he recovered.

My sincere congratulations to the EPN and Zion hovercraft captains for ensuring the safe return of Commander Lock to New Zion.
It was a very prolonged battle, and your will to fight never ceased. It was an honor for me to be there.

We "bottled" it due to a more profitable ending. Our whole goal in this was to retrieve Locke, hold him for ransom and gain profit. When the tides of the battle seemed as if they were going to overwhelm us, we dealt for a Profitable End rather then a Vengeful and Predictable End.

I believe you all did quite a good job, and the experience was well deserved all around.

Just to post this ahead of the finish, thank you Merv operatives for calling a ceasefire with us.
And your very welcome. I do hope Locke will become a less emotionally driven leader, and perform whatever job he now has adequetly.

Longest battle ever.(About 5 hours 30mins) Made the Battle of Zion seem short. Congrats to Zion and EPN and to Fenshire and Neoteny for getting Lieutenant.

You are correct.  If the truce was still on, we would not be fighting you.

Exactly.
Agreed, if the truce wasn't broken, we wouldn't be fighting at all...

I concur.

If you're going to quote me, then quote me. Don't put words in my mouth without suggesting your own biased edit. The thought that the Architect broke it is ridiculous and downright laughable.

As for the battle, I take it it was a good battle. It's all practise for the next one where the prize might be worth something more than a few outdated command codes and information we cannot verify. A win would possibly have affected Zion's morale most of all but as it stands we are no worse off than we were before.

Relax.  I was just having a bit of fun with you.  I've long since realized it's pointless arguing with Machinists, who practice the very same ignorance that they condemn us for.

((A good fight to all it seems. A 5 1/2 hour battle goes to show how hard each side worked. I wasn't able to attend (not if I wanted to turn up to work this morning) but is there a comprehensible rundown of the highlights of the battle?))

I would like to extend my sincerest apology to my fellow Machine operatives. My signal gave out a most in-opportune time and I was unable to repair it until late in the AM. And while I am honored to have received my rank as Private, I had hoped it would have been earned another way.

((My router gave out at the start (2.5) hours in, I never even got to fire a shot at anyone. Well now that we've had one of these and have learned a few things I hope we can have some larger, but not quite so large, battles in the future. It was fun to fight against fellow operatives from different instances. ))

Here is the map and final outcome.

Essentially, The Merovingian ops began at the very top of the honecomb, Zion on the top left edge, Cypherites on the bottom left edge, Machinists on the top right edge, EPN on the bottom right edge. A mysterious ship matching the description of other Halborn or Carlyne's vessels started in the dead center of the map.

The Devildog and The Titan swooped down to deal with the Cypherites while The Shadrack and The Saltpillar navigated an obstical to the east and approached the Cypherites from that direction. Machinists started to move south towards EPN while EPN moved west to aid in the erradication of the Cypherites. The Merovingian's operatives, except for Recession, Captain of The Silent Hearts maintained their position. Recession slowly entered the mid-top area of the field.

Shortly before the Zion fleet destroyed the Cypherites, EPN turned around to meet the Machinists in combat near the center of the field. Yasamuu made his way over the eastmost obstacle towards the top of the map in a bid to avoid ShiXinFeng's hovercraft, Rocinate, and eventually clashed with The Silent Hearts while The Rocinate turned south to engage other Machinist ships along with the rest of the EPN fleet.

Over the course of the battle, Yasamuu's hovercraft, Chaos and The Silent Hearts exchanged fire and, if I recall correctly, rammed several times while maintaining a position away from the rest of the Machinists. After a shorter period of time, Sontag's hovercraft, Chaos Control withdrew from battle, followed by the disabling of Illyria's Ishtar. The Saltpillar and The Shadrack maintained a position on the north of the battlefield, closing in on Yasamuu's vessel while the Merovingian operatives finally deployed their fleet.

Mathalos then withdrew from combat and, shortly after, Sieges's Quinotar managed to disable The Saltpillar. Within a round, a cease-fire was called between Zion and the Merovingian, and his operatives withdrew from combat. Chaos was disabled when ShiXinFeng rammed his craft into it, and moments later, Commander Lock was transferred from Steelle's The Hand of God to RedBindi's The Titan, which is making steady progress towards New Zion.

I hope that works as a summary.

Thankyou, yes. The figures below are something which I cannot figure out at this time but I am hoping to contact Vogt soon in regards to learning the battlefield regulations and terminology.

Thank you Neoteny for that summary, it helps.

Although I could not be there, I would like to congratulate The Zion and E Pluribus Neo Captains who particpated in this vital battle, it's thanks to you that Commander Lock was able to make it to New Zion safely.

I would like to thank the Mervs who made a ceasfire with us.

I would like to Congratulate The Machinists and Cypherites for putting up a great fight.

((wow it lasted 5 1/2 hours long? cripes, it does make the battle of Old Zion seem short lol cool battle guys SMILEY ))

[[It was fairly amazing to watch it all happen, though I'm still going to have to stick with the fact that these maps always need to be labeled. The Cyphs would have had a hard time anyway, being "stuck between" Zion/EPN as we were, but deploying on top of zion because of a misunderstanding in terminology didn't help either SMILEY]

Welldone Zion and EPN!

Good to have the former commander back safely.

(( 5.5 hours? *CENSORED*, I couldn't be there for obviously timeline issues, but knowing it took that long would have sucked for me too ))
