I must admit, I was quite surprised that the zombie animations were fixed so quickly. I really had thought these problems originated in the complexity of a totally new animation style and already wanted to start "ranting" about how we could now see how difficult melee weapons would be to implement, etc..
But it was adjusted in a hotfix a few days later. That's great.
The zombie style is actually quite exciting and believeable -- sick is the best word. Combined with the awesome character models and the zombie mood (seriously, I was like "wow, that rocks" when I saw them), we basically have extremely convincing and impressive MxO zombies here.
However, on the second look, their animations are by far not as perfect as any of the other five styles. It's exciting to see them crawling on the floor, desperately fidgeting at you with the arms and making some sort of awry, rough throws for a time, but after some time, I stopped really enjoying it and chose a MA style whenever I was a zombie.
While I've been seeing the Lupine and MA styles more than for a year and still enjoy them the same.
They need some tempering. Characters constantly merging into each other instantly arising from the floor after having crawled on it (Speed attack mostly) -- in the other Melee styles, that happens between the animations but hardly within.
Would rock if it were adjusted for the next time.
