I agree. Aggression (however logical it might seem) will only be met with more aggression. Zion isn't interested in negotiating, especially after that little offensive a week or so ago. The Machine in all it's infinite logic and reason should know that it's going to be that way. We aren't going to be whipped into obedience, and we aren't interested in talking on uneven terms.

You'll have to excuse me for being pessimistic here but, I don't think Mankind will ever be on even terms with the Machines unless we start to work together and even then it will be a long time in the making. It is possible that, in time, you manage to attain a way to destroy 01 and all of the Machines in it, but how can you be sure that there are no other cities around the world? Of course that is mere speculation and you can only proceed with knowledge that you have. I just feel that fighting for peace between Man and Machine, no matter the bitter taste it may leave, stands a much better chance of succeeding then an attempt of total destruction of either side.

Again, mankind won't work towards that as long as it's threatened by it. I'm not saying the Machine and it's lie has to cease to exist. I'm just saying we aren't going to be beaten into submission or accept being controlled. It's never been as easy as trying to negotiate or saying "I'll stop fighting. I want peace." for any of us with the exception of the One. If the Machine sees me, it will try to kill me on sight, not wait for me to put my guns down and say I want to stop fighting. So until we see that change, the Machine and it's Machinists can't expect peace.

The Machine; quite probably... Machinists such as myself; If you do put your weapons down and request talk, we will listen.

But see you are not the ones that we need to talk to. You are not the ones that need to listen. Your bosses are and before you even attempt to say that you could be a relay between us and them may I remind you of a "Anti-Cypherite" thread in which Machinest stood up and decalred they were aginst the Cypherites and how well the system listend to it. Your free to act as noble as you want but you need to stop kidding yoruself by thinking that the Machine is going to do the same just because of you and a few others.

Amen. The Machine and the Machinist don't always have the same agenda or see eye to eye. The reinsertion fiasco alone is proof of that.

We're at war now.  Get used to it.

There will never be peace without communication.  Both sides are quick to pick up a gun when they should consider picking up an olive branch.  As optimistic as I try to be, I don't really see either side's pride allowing for it to happen.

Justify it all that you want.  In the end, it's all just a bunch of excuses.

Now that Roland is the Commander, he has to stay in Zion.
He has all what it takes to be a nice commander, he'll be fine.

But I think Colt doesn't seem to have the gust to be a captain of the Hammer II
