One thing I am still a bit fuzzy on after years is how the cr2 sneak and detection rolls work.

More exactly what is the difference between stealth and concealment detection, and how does the noise modifier value factor in to this?

I've thus far done a little testing with sneak value items such as sakura boots and they do seem to make a differnce,I would just like to know the whole forumla.

Thank You.

Not a master on the math of those, but Noise Level Modifer only affects NPC's and if they notice you or not.

Ahh true forgot about the npc thing...

But still is it just a stealth level vs detection roll?

I also find in strange that stealth caps yellow at 75..just sakura boots and sneak give 80 alone.

I believe it's:

(Detection Ability Level * 4) + Bonuses + Roll (1-100)        vs.      (Disguise Ability Level * 4) + Bonuses + 50

So diguise ability level and not sneak etc? That would explain why i seem to get seen much more as a gunman in sneak than as a spy..but meh.

Note that the Concealment detection device (the flashlight) throws off Disguises ONLY and does NOT remove the ability to use sneak attacks after being detected!

Also the more a target moves in sneak, the easier he/she is to be detected (apparently everytime you move you have a chance to detect someone in your surroundings, whereas when you stand you'd have to rely on the movement of your opponent).

Sneak Attack Detection % only works when somebody uses a sneak attack or Disable Evade -> you may see him before it goes off, which isn't all too helpful considering how fast those things go off. Also seems to lower the chance of being hit with a sneak attack as far as I can recall when I asked 9mm.
