This sounds like yet another screw up

Well... it just sounds to me like there were cetain elements that Rare was not prepaired for.  Besides the apparent issue raised with who should access the meeting which im not going to comment on it just seems that we havent learned anything new, which is quite disheartening.

I will admit that i have always been against this particular strand of the new set up and therefore it would take a hell of a lot to make me feel anything positive about these type of "event".  I personally would like to have seen something which involves the player, allowing the choices we make to have an influence on the story.

Anyway...

Qudos.

Lots of questions answered, felt like a very easy going meeting where people were encouraged to discuss things in a way we've never been able to before, felt no kind of tension of any kind despite there being machinists of 3 servers there. Absolutely fantastic.

Back to the original topic...

I'm glad we were given some real information about Wright and the Oligarchs.  And I assume the Oligarchs aren't happy about the Machines taking over their corporation inside the Matrix, so we will probably be hearing from them soon.  I miss the live events, of course, but these meetings give everyone an opportunity to be updated on the story and to ask questions.

I'm so tired of binary, polarized reactions on DN1.   Blind cheerleading or obnoxious slagging that only provokes people.

I still don't think these are an appropriate permanent substitute for Live Events.  But by the same token I don't excpect daily live events either (There's that pesky nuance thing again!)

I'm interested in what worked and what didn't work.

Also, the 2PM meeting time forevermore...means no more org meetings for me forevermore, as I have a day job and can't take the time off.  I am very happy that our UK and European friends got to participate but I hope we'll be able to mix things up in the future.  6PM PST would be a good thing once in a while IMO.  If 2PM is written in stone, that'll be it for me and many others with any future live interactions with storyline characters, which would be a shame.

Yeah I too share your disappointment.  I'm hopeful that the time could be bumped up to 3PM to at least accomodate us on day shift.

Heh as a West Coaster that wouldn't work for me either.  I'd need 6PM PST.  BUT I understand that wouldn't work for many others.  That's why I'm saying it would be best to mix it up.

I'm in the same boat, unfortunately.  But this has always been the case -- live events usually happened during the work day here in California, because that's when Rarebit is at work.  I've only been to a handful of live events in four years of playing, and it looks like these meetings won't be any different.  =(

Let's keep the discussion friendly and civil. If there is anymore bashing/flaming of players or staff, we will have to hand out some vacations from the forum.

Works for some, not for others.. and definitely not for me.  The only way I can make it at that time is if I have the day off.  Sometimes I'll be able to swing that by swapping shifts with a co-worker, sometimes (most times?) I won't.  Thankfully I at least work on a rotation that leaves me with weekdays off at times so I'm not completely out of luck.

The time doesnt work for me either.  I know most of the people that were at the Zion meeting and only 1 was from the UK and he went AFK to eat some fried chicken and then logged off midway through the meeting.

Well, I was there and you probably don't know me, so listen: 2 p.m. MCT is at midnight for me, ok? And yet I didn't complain (as I almost never do about timings) and just did what I could to attend the meeting. I hope this brings some variety to your picture.
