If they did merge, they'd probably do it with the two servers that have the least population on 7 days a week in total, which is probably recursion + vector-hostile

As long as Recursion likes Perma flag PVP i'm fine with that.

Otherwise my suggestion on the previous page... i think it was in this thread anyways is the way to go.
If that were to happen, which I doubt, I'd guess that those on Recursion who don't want to be Perma flagged will probably grudgingly roll a new character or play an existing character on Syntax. You'd probably get the Recursion/Vector divide in the server player base, those who levelled up on a hostile server and those who didn't.

The only merge that would happen if they want to reduce it to two servers (the spare would not be guaranteed as a test server), then it would be the two non-hostile servers. There would then be the issue of big server load on the non-hostile server.
The moment they axe perma flag server i'm gone and i'm sure others are in agreement. I think they should merge Syntax and Recursion and offer anyone who is man or woman enough the chance to transfer to Vector. Alot of the so called PVPers on the blue servers would like Vector if they didn't have to level again.

Whatever servers they theoretically merge, they should offer a free character transfer to everyone, that 'not rolling on a Hostile server' thing goes out of the window when your going down to 2 servers, which is still only theory here SMILEY

if they did a merge logically, they would have one PvP server and one normal server because if there were no pvp server, people be ticked off. So if they merged two servers together it would either be Recursion and Syntax to make the one normal server or they would merge Syntax / Recursion to Vector and make it a PvP server. I like the idea of people who don't like the idea can do a free character transfer, but I think no matter anyway you merge it, people are gonna complain about it...

That is my logic on that anyways...

Lets sell the servers and buy one to support everyone (the way MXO should have been from the start SMILEY )

But really, now that I'm level 50 on Syntax, I wish I had a char on Vector.  Only, I'm pretty sure I'll never be bored enough to level another character on any server.

Can you imagine the lag on the server during a LE though, the party on Syntax was laggy enough before the Dev's started having fun, I doubt they'd get a single superserver to replace the three servers that they already have and still work!

It'd have to be either a Hostile or Non-Hostile, so either the Vectorites would be pissed off at it being non-hostile or at least an equal number of people, if not more, from the other servers would be pissed off at the forced flag.

I don't see a server merge happening any time soon though.

Party on Syntax also consisted of probably everybody who plays MxO on average actively. So i.e., that was your player-base all in one spot. Obviously a Syntax and Recursion merge would be the most logical, and honestly I don't mind a lot of the guys from Recursion as there are some I'd rather be on my home server so I'd get to interact with them more often. Of course, there are those that would rather see that not happen, but isn't Planet Side a rather old game? I think it's honestly run its course by now.

It also means dealing with the people from every server...every day.

Well when you think about that.. we would all be from one server so all the inter server drama would eventually dissapear.

Well, you would think so but there's still a lot of talk about the previous servers that were merged and who came from where and which one was better even today on the three servers we have now =p

As for merging Vector into another server and making it non-hostile or made two districts non-hostile and two hostile, I wouldn't really mind. If I don't want to PvP on Vector then I'll go to a quiet hardline or not bother logging in, it's not difficult to avoid PvP if you don't want to do it. If I do want to PvP I'll go PvP, so even on a hostile server the theoretical choice still exists.

Or *shock horror* those who wanted to PvP 24/7 could hang in the places where thats intended i.e. constructs.

What?! Do something as it was intended to do. Heaven forbid! :O SMILEY

Yeah, either that or use a /pvp Macro.

The construct idea would be cool, IMO. At least then there would be a change of scenery from Mara, which will probably never happen. :p

Yeah, a bluepill walking down the street and seeing someone hacking isn't exactly a RP friendly way to go about things, but with the constructs you are out of bluepill sight so can go pure nuts without risk of killing any bluepills watching.

Yes, standing around a hardline chatting with the enemy isn't any better but that was the bad forsight of the origional Devs who didn't think of putting in 3 Org strong holds that would serve as a hang out spot for the one org and not have everyone as buddy buddy and help PVP overall.

Each has plus points, each has negative points, none of them are "the way the Matrix Online is supposed to be played" either.

Haha. Yeah, I can imagine seeing that happen just outside my doorstep and my brain frying in the process SMILEY

In fairness, I think all three orgs(5 technically I guess) standing around a hardline isn't too unrealistic. They might be debating or negotiating or perhaps at the time they're not fighting one another due to personal preference or whatever, thats open to interpretation a little more. The devs couldn't really legislate for future storyline twists and turns.

But yeah, there's no book on how MxO was supposed to be played.

This servers merge was a bad expirience!People from 3rd server(Werner) gone to the new server(Markov+Emerald=Gemini)becous it have much people, and Werner become a place with low population and few players who dont want to make new characters at gemini...so if we will make syntax+recursion, vector may become dead...
