Actually, I saw that headline and didn't read it. I guess that's testament to our current midfields success.

I'm really wondering how everyone will fit in to our midfield, Thomson doesn't deserve to be dropped. Ferguson was obviously missed when we dropped out of the CL, anyone who says he doesn't influence the team was proved wrong by that performance but Thomson really stepped up to the plate and scored in that game too so /shrug.

I think Ferguson will last two more seasons at the most anyway. Probably retire the season after World Cup 2010 if we get there, or will retire that season if we don't. Injuries have killed the tail end of his career.

Davis will be our captain when Ferguson gives it up.

I like the sound of Davis for captain.

That's funny - I am flying home to see West Ham vs Spurs in Dec,  and the O's play Northampton away that same day.   I am going to Upton Park with two Swedes who are flying over, but one of them is an O's fan and will catch the train to Northampton to see them play SMILEY

One of my mates has a soft spot for Leyton Orient. I don't know how he developed it, but he keeps an eye on their scores.

Good man, that!

I was born in Leytonstone, and my dad (and his dad) are/were all O fans. I don't live there now, but I still follow 'em (though not as regularly as I'd like).

Haha. Zlatan is the ultimate enigma, he can be amazing one minute and horrible the next. Did you see his miss in the first half? It was like what the hell?

Tony, maybe you can answer this for me, do Panathiniakos have a new stadium? When Rangers played them last year the stadium was much more compact, I remember.

Ahhh I see. Did that just take effect this year then? I remember in the UEFA Cup and when Rangers played Panathinaikos in the Champions League in '04 that they played in the same stadium as last year. I guess they changed.

Tonights results saw a couple of suprises.

Man United were held at home by Villareal but the return of Cristiano Ronaldo will have lifted United fans spirits ahead of the crunch match on Sunday which could see Chelsea make a 9point gap over the champions so early in the season. Celtic were also held at home, in the same group, by Aalborg. Celtic wasted a penalty and had numerous opporunities but the Danes didn't look like mugs either and always looked dangerous on the break, and despite the Danish side going down to 10-men, Celtic couldn't break through.

Else where, a little disappointed in Zenit, they were the better team but lost to Juve. Fiorentina gave a good showing in Lyon but Karim Benzema, being one of the best strikers in Europe inspired their come back to draw 2-2 scoring and setting up a goal.

GROUP E:
Celtic 0-0 Aalborg
Man Utd 0-0 Villarreal
GROUP F:
Lyon 2-2 Fiorentina
Steaua Bucharest 0-1 Bayern Munich
GROUP G:
Dynamo Kiev 1-1 Arsenal

Juventus 1-0 Zenit St Petersburg
Real Madrid 2-0 BATE Borisov

They did lose to Celtic 1-0 a couple of years back ~_~

I did get to see United beat them 3-2 at Old Trafford though, now that was epic.

Well that stadium, even though it was alright,it wasn't as big..There's a difference between a 35.000 people stadium and 80.000...People were complaining. So it was time for a change.
