I recall this being done before, but........I can't find it so, I want to do it again. Crews, post a picture, sketch, or blueprint of your hovercraft or barge and some specs. Below is the HvCft Trunkline (note: the sketch below is not mine, I don't remember who it is, but it smacks of official concept art, so I'll guess it was done by Geoff Darrow). (Note All Specs are by me, Trikraft, not the original poster of the image.) Class: Brahma V Purpose: Command Vessel Size: 32 Meters, 8 decks. Maximum Speed: 80.5 Km/H Total Weight: 38.10 Metric Tons Manueverability Rating: VII (Lower is better) Crew Compliment (Minimum): 12 Crew Compliment (Maximum): 40 Operations Decks: 2 Operating Cores: 4 Operating Core Processing Power: 4.6 yota-flops per second Total Matrix Jack-In Compliment: 24 Weapons Batteries: 2 Quick Charge High Intensity EMP Emulsion Devices External Gunnery: 6 Fore Mounted 25mm Cannon, 4 Aft Mounted 20mm Cannon Hoverpads: 25 Versa-Trans Heavy Industries Military Grade Hover-Lite Pads Hoverpad Lifting Force (single): 8076 kW Hoverpad Lifting Force (Combined): Goverened at 36000 kW for safety reasons Power Core: Versa-Trans Heavy Industries Hybrid Core Fusion Power Plant Power Core Output: 7.7 Terawatts

This is the design I created of The Maelstrom, Remnent's ship in "Welcome to the Machine", with heavy influence from Greg Hull's design of The Vishnu. I need to do one of the Defiant pretty soon though. Class: Vishnu Function: Originally Medical/Patcher Skiff. Artillery and additional propulsion installed by current captain. Maiden Flight: 03.15.2204 Size: (height w/landing gear extracted) 12.80 Meters (width) 19.20 Meters, 3 decks. Cruising Speed: 68.0 Km/H Maximum Speed: 100.0 Km/H Total Weight: 76,818 kg (169,000 lb) Manueverability Rating: III Crew Compliment (Minimum): 3 Crew Compliment (Maximum): 5 Operations Decks: 2 Operating Cores: 1 Operating Core Processing Power: 2.4 yota-flops per second Total Matrix Jack-In Compliment: 3 Weapons Batteries: 1 Quick Charge High Intensity EMP Emulsion Device External Gunnery: 5 Rear, Dual-Mounted 25mm Cannon; 1 Front-Mounted, Six-barrel, hydraulically operated 20mm Gatling gun Hoverpads: 16 Standard Zion Military Grade Hover-Lite Pads Hoverpad Lifting Force (single): 6000 kW Hoverpad Lifting Force (Combined): Goverened at 80,000 kW Power Core: Zion Military Ion Fuel Cell Power Plant Power Core Output: 5.2 Terawatts

This is a little write up I did as part of my on-going upgrade of the TTB website. Honest. I'll be done someday. lol. Not my fault I keep changing my mind. Really. This time I have the design I want. And I've done far to much to abandon the idea. hehe.
The pic is just a screen capture of the Neb. I think. Looks like the Neb.
The Hovercraft Format C is a strange vessel according to Zion Standards. Constructed shortly after the Truce was declared the ship was rumoured to be haunted due to the mysterious engine Skyscream found near the surface. In truth the ship is inhabited by an Exile program, Forr Matsee, who was Skyscreams husband from when she was a bluepill and powered by a rather ordinary looking engine. The engine plate inscription reads: Mark III No. 35 Made in Canada 2073 The Format C is perhaps the most formidable hovercraft ever made and the Flagship of the TTB fleet. Nearly as large as a hoverbarge with armour plating and armed with no less than 24 machine gun turrets and three large caliber cannons, as well as some classified surprises, few ships have survived a direct clash with this hovercraft intact. The ship was designed for surface exploration, as well as operations in the tunnels, and can operate independantly of Zion or Believer Base for extended periods. Able to comfortably hold a crew of 12 redpills this ship also contains a rather large cargo area for a warship. Due to it's size the Format C is completely incapable of entering medium to small tunnels and has even been known to scrape hull on tunnel wall in the larger ones. The crew is known to rarely sleep anywhere except on board the ship even when docked at Zion or Believer Base. As a veteran Hovercraft of Zion the Format C has been on numerous missions, most of which are classified, but the crew rarely talks about what they do. However, there are a number of rumours. One is that the ship was almost completely rebuilt after a disasterous mission near Machine City. Another rumour is that the ship appeared to be unaffected by an EMP pulse. Niether of these events are verifiable at this time. ((Not exactly specs .. I know .. but hey.. it's what I have. lol. In case some missed it.. the Hovercraft is basically the 'body' of Forr Matsee. ) *edit: I was working on a blueprint but .. sheesh.. I just don't have the time. If I find what I had I'll post it.

Gonna necro this thread 'cos it's the only one I could find where hovercraft dimensions are discussed. I'm (finally) drawing the layout for the HvCFT Aggregator, of which I'm the captain, but I'm not sure about the size limitations. At the moment I'm going for a width of about 25m, three decks and a length of 75m. What do you reckon? Edit: And it's a full complement of 12 crew members.

That's why I need someone to draw a hovercraft for me. Too many people have used the concept sketches and renderings now. *Coughs.* Oh Pyraci...!

-_- This is getting rediculous..... Looks more like a hover barge than a hover craft so maybe you can all share it! =D

You called? ^^ I'm almost done with my commissions, but as soon as I am, I can work up something really cool. I've been wanting to make a machinist vessel for a while, and I think you and Kell called dibs on one anyway. I'll let you know. Class: Ganesha Function: Reconnaisance/Stealth; Medium combat vessel Maiden Flight: 04.16.2206 Size: (height w/landing gear extracted) 12.20 Meters (width) 19.80 Meters, 2 decks. Cruising Speed: 75.0 Km/H Maximum Speed: 120.0 Km/H Total Weight: 72,574.78 kg (160,000 lb) Manueverability Rating: IV Crew Compliment (Minimum): 3 Crew Compliment (Maximum): 8 Operations Decks: 1 Operating Cores: 1 Operating Core Processing Power: 2.8 yota-flops per second Total Matrix Jack-In Compliment: 5 Weapons Batteries: 1 Quick Charge High Intensity EMP Emulsion Device External Gunnery: 8 Rear, 4 Oblique, and 2 Front Dual-Mounted 25mm Cannon; 2 Front-Mounted, Six-barrel, hydraulically operated 20mm Gatling guns Hoverpads: 18 Standard Zion Military Grade Hover-Lite Pads Hoverpad Lifting Force (single): 6000 kW Hoverpad Lifting Force (Combined): Ungoverened at approximately 90,000 kW Power Core: Zion Military Ion Fuel Cell Power Plant Power Core Output: 5.1 Terawatts

Yeah, it's a beauty. If you really feel like doing a drawing for me, be warned: I've already got the internal layout of my ship, and I've got some ideas about its external appearance. I don't know how much, uh, maneuverability you like to have in your projects.

Here's the layout of the HvCFT Aggregator. I haven't figured out its exact external appearance yet, nor its statistics, but at least you can see how comfortably we live. I've written a description of the vessel in my journal.

Neoteny's old ship. Never did like pulling numbers out of my *CENSORED* for this type of deal, though, so if someone would like to, be my guest. 23 hoverpods, two 50 cal cannons on the front, one man-operated minigun turret on top, blade grafted onto the bottom for slow, but continued transit during power-downs.

Imagine my surprise when this thread reappeared on the RSI scene. I always enjoyed the nuts and bolts...physics behind the Real. The idea that hovercraft use a science that we are not yet capable of creating, but still based in our physical world...I find it fascinating. Imagine seeing one of these steel and titanium beasts roaring past you at nearly 100 MPH, bristling with weaponry, the static pulse of the pads causing the hair on your arms and head to stand up. Very cool.
