Hello all,

I never really cared for people writing posts telling people they are leaving, but after spending nearly 4 years with this game, I feel oddly compelled to give some kind of farewell notice.

It’s not like I really haven’t already left already though, I could probably count the amount of hours I’ve played over the last 6 months on one finger.  And before that, I really didn’t log in often enough to justify the monthly/yearly fee I was paying.

Matrix Online was the first MMO I ever really played, and is the only one that totally consumed me. How ironic that a franchise about freeing yourself into the real instead held my attention captive in one that was fictitious. The first few months of the game may have been the most fun I ever had in any game. I was surrounded by a great community and Live Events that, although they often went wrong and caused the server to crash, made me log in constantly throughout the day just to see what was new. There seemed like there was always something happening. Whether it was the oracle using the system broadcast to talk to u,  a meeting with Agent Skinner or a full out brew ha ha because Morpheus was hanging out by the subway.

But after those first few months, things took a dive for the worse, and the game never really recovered. And I think that’s why I’ve continued to hand over my cash, because of the first few months. But I have to face facts the game is never going to be that good again. Combat 2.0 and people like Rarebit, Walrus, No Repro, and HC Frog gave me hope, but unfortunately the game continues in it’s slow downward spiral.

Thanks to everyone who made playing game as much fun and tried to keep it afloat. There’s no doubt that without the outstanding group of dedicated players here and Rarebit this game would of died long ago.

My subscription doesn’t actually expire for good for another couple of weeks so perhaps I’ll log in one or two more times to pay my final respects. I hope to see you all again one day, maybe in another MMO, maybe on Xbox Live, or maybe even back here if I’m like others who just can’t quit this game.

Goodbye.

And, no you can’t have my stuff; I don’t have anything worth having anyway.

Why is this in Off-Topic? Wasn't it in General Discussion a bit ago?

Sounds like an off topic discussion to me. Maybe would be on topic in a server forum though.

Maybe it's time for a new forum:

Takin the Blue Pill
Taking the Blue Pill forum is where you'll find farewells from all of your fellow players who are departing from The Matrix Online.

Then move it to the recursion forums then?

Why is it after 3 years they are now being classified as off topic?

Good question... they should have been off topic 4 years ago.
