I don't see why the pills LESIG was given at their disposal couldn't be used by players wanting to tell a story

Who is gonna make sure they are only used for story telling?

Who cares if people use them for pvp?  Put them on a reuse timer of 24 hours or something.

I can understand the potential for griefing, but I think they could revitalize more than they can hinder.  And honestly...  will it really hurt?  The game's dying.  Might as well try it while we still have a chance to.

I think what Wally is alluding to, is a few weeks back some trolls popped ingame and where using every Dev/Admin tool in the book. Meatwadding, Assasin Abs, Codebombs, Spawns, Insta-Flag, you name it. Some ppl found it amusing, others where just being relentlessly harassed.  I encountered one such Troll under the name of "The Failure" on Recursion, turns out it was a.k.a GodTier - and his other pals.  When I sent in the CCR tickets, I also let Virrago know, quite loudly (I might add).  Only thing Virrago said was that these players/trolls had found an exploit in some item or something. Allowing them access to Admin/Dev abs and controls. I was told it was taken care of and the sploit has been fixed. (does make one wonder what that item was ... just curious)

Now, if it was some kind of god-like sploit that's one thing.  But if Wally means giving some players such permissions ... without the rest of our knowladge.  Then there IS something seriously wrong here and my bitter gripes about Player Favoritism with the Devs aren't all that unfounded.  Thanks Walrus, and Rarebit - I always knew it.

That's always been the problem with this game from the start - it reflects the neglect of the ppl running it.  The game itself is only a tool, a thing. It's the ppl who shape it, build it and interact in it that make it what it is.  If only we could have a team that has more self-discipline in their jobs and sense of responsibility, accountability, and passion for what they do.  Perhaps with a Dev team who cared about it, and went by their employment rules, didn't play favs, we could have a more profitable, and better game.  But till then ... so be it Wally.

Sorry that was kinda scathing ... but whatever. Needs to be said.

As for the update itself - meh. Not surprised about the items from Omega at all, kinda expected it.  I stopped using Vista when my Vista locked itself out, which it still does on my machine when I try to install it again.  So I just said f'it and stuck with XP.  Game runs better on XP anyway.  High lvl RSI captures should have a 15% or 20% drop rate instead of the 10%, simply because of the difficulty involved in getting them for individuals.

Saying that the Vista rendering issues have been "killed" is like saying the 1986 explosion of space shuttle Challenger was "a successful test of the limitations of the O-rings in the solid rocket boosters."  A few very specific texture combination issues of Vista rendering have been worked around, but that's all.  The main problem still remains, as can be seen here.  Optimism and wishful thinking aside, the Vista rendering issues are still alive.  Maybe they had an EJP and reconstructed.

From what I've experienced, most I've asked, they are gone.  Usually the UI freakout is clothing related, which alot were fixed.  However as stated by Rare, there are a few that elluded him, which take a real developer with programming to kill.  All one can do is throw on the static lighting hotfix at this point.

Ok so, if we are not getting any more content for this game, then can we get a reduction in price or even not have to pay any more to play? I would guess No, but still a reduction to probably 6.99 or so just for Bandwidth use or something might be relavent.

A simple server merge to cut costs as alluded to in another post of having a Super server and bam you got yourself a Matrix that might work.

Ah so it's not something designed to obscure any question that Rare might actually have been answering? Gotcha

Because it wasn't part of the conversation.

See, now wasn't that much easier. Plus it eliminates any doubt and claims of creating drama by the poster that censoring text creates.
