(1) To fix the vista and some xp problems read below:
-----------------------------------------------------------

 (1a) Minimize (UAC) Interruptions:

This technique doesn't disable the UAC option but reduces annoyance please read ahead and follow the step given.

1. Create a standard user account, with all default settings and required software installed.
2. From the Administrator account you need to open the Local Security Policy editor. Do this by typing secpol.msc in the Start search box and hit enter.
3. Click Security Options in the Local Policies section and then scroll down the list on the right to User Account: Behavior Of The Elevation Prompt For Standard Users.
4. By default, the setting is Prompt For Credentials. Double-Click the setting and select Automatically Deny Elevation Requests from the drop-down menu, then click OK and close the Security Policy editor.

Then you should be done.

  (1b) Fix Compatibility With Vista:

1. Goto My Computer
2. Goto C:/ Or whatever drive letter you are using.
3. Goto Program Files
4. Goto "Matrix Online" folder
5. Ok once there Right Click "matrix.exe" and select properties.
a. On the tab called "Compatibility" set it to be compatible with Windows XP.
6. Ok once there Right Click "launcher.exe" and select properties.
a. On the tab called "Compatibility" set it to be compatible with Windows XP.

Then the compatibility problems should be fixed
.

(1c) To help stop the harassment on using or opening programs on Vista read ahead:

( If you already have (UAC) disabled don't do this procedure )

1. Click the Start orb in the lower left corner.
2. Then on the right side of the window that popped up click "Control Panel"
3. Then look for the button called "User Accounts" and click it.
4. Then on the bottom there should be a link called "Turn User Account Control on or off."
5. Then there will be a check box with "User Account Control (UAC) to help your computer.", go ahead and uncheck it you don't really need it and it sometimes interferes with multiple programs.

 (2) Mods/Tweaks

 (2a) UserOpts.cfg file:

Ok i have been messing around with this useropts file, and it is pretty interesting you can get a program here: UserOpts.cfg go ahead and try it out and look into it.

 (3) Patching:

(3a) The Right Way to Re-Patch

Full System Scan is a 2 stage process, did you follow the procedure listed here? : http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/....id=12400011161

 (4) How to Unblock/Getting MxO to work:

(4a) But if you wanna keep it here is how to unblock MxO for MxO:

1. Goto Start
2. Click "Control Panel"
3. On the left panel click "Switch to classic view" if not already there.
4. Then on the bottom there will be a button called "Windows Firewall".
5. First of all make sure its on if you don't already have a firewall.
6. Then goto the "Exceptions" tab and then click Add Program.
7. Then on the list it gives you there should be a program called "The Matrix Online" click it, if not then click browse and browse for it in you Matrix Online folder.
8. Then click ok and its should be in the unblocked list.

(4b) To open the ports using Windows Firewall do this:

1. Goto Start
2. Click "Control Panel"
3. On the left panel click "Switch to classic view" if not already there.
4. Then on the bottom there will be a button called "Windows Firewall".
5. First of all make sure its on if you don't already have a firewall.
6. Then goto the "Exceptions" tab and then click "Add Port"
7. Then for the name just name it MxO.
8. With TCP use these ports: 80, 5190, 11000, and 10000.
9. Using UDP use these ports: 10000 and 11000.
10. Then click ok for the last time and your done.

(4c) Further below i am making a small tutorial for people using the firewall called "Kaspersky" to help from MxO being blocked or slowed down:

1. Click Start and then click All Programs.
2. Then hold your mouse over "Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0" folder and then move it over to "Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0" with the K in the left of it.
3. Then a window should pop-up, now in the Protection tab click the "Firewall" link.
4. Once there click the Configure button.
5. Now under Filteration System click "Settings".
6. Once there this little list is the list of allowed programs.

7. Now click "Add" and then browse.
a. Then look for the "launcher.exe" file and click it.
b. Then a rules for "launcher.exe will pop-up click add on the right side of the window.
c. For the Rule Name don't worry about and the properties don't worry about and additional don't worry about.
d. The "Rules Description" is something you will change but for now just click ok.
e. You will see now you have a new rule, now click "Add" once more and forget everything but the "Rules Description", but this time where it says "TCP" click it and then it should turn into "UDP" and then click ok. Now you have those two rules.

8. Now click "Add" and then browse.
a. Then look for the "matrix.exe" file and click it.
b. Then a rules for "matrix.exe will pop-up click add on the right side of the window.

(4d) How to unblock MxO on Norton Internet Security:

1. Double-click the Norton Internet Security icon.
2. Double-click Personal Firewall.
3. On the Programs tab, select the matrix program that to unblock it in the Manual Program Control window.
4. Click Remove.
5. Click OK to any warning messages.
6. If there are other components of the program that appear in the list, remove them as well.
7. Click OK.
8. Close Norton Internet Security.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Routers:

Well router are the gateways from your computer to the internet. Also since there is so many routers it is hard to give a tutorial on this but what you need to do with a router is find a place where you can set ports and open these ports that SOE needs opened:

Knowledge Base:

Matrix Online:
In order for the game servers to communicate with your game client reliably, firewalls and routers may need to be configured to allow traffic on TCP ports 80, 5190, 11000, and 10000. It will also need to allow the program to communicate on UDP ports 10000 and 11000.

Explanations for some errors/bugs that MxO has been having:

The reason why some people are getting the character already in use problem is a bug that SOE is currently trying to fix it isn't anything vital it will soon go away so don't panic like you account has been stolen (Like i did) and just stay calm and it will go away eventually.

Vista Texture/Shadow Bugs:

(* Currently the Vista SP1 hasn't really fixed anything as far as i know. *)

Performance: Usually caused by DX10 but isn't really a bug, it's just that DX10 requires alot more juice.
Dotted Texture: Currently No Fix
Incorrect Face Shading: Currently No Fix
Launcher Typing Bugs: Currently No Fix
Inventory Icons Invisible: Not really a fix, but some trench coats cause them to disappear, just try to remove those clothes and try it.

Character in use bug:

ATI 2600 XT HD AGP Indoor Bugs:

BTW notice for some of those ATI users, i am currently using a ATI 2600 XT AGP from www.visiontek.com and it has major incompatibility with MxO, but only indoors. For the example of whats is happening i made a topic over it here: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300021005 (In the MxO options menu in-game there is a option called Load Sector LOD's when i unchecked it, it seemed to work fine. The driver version used on this was 8.453 Visiontek and the new 8.3n Visiontek driver doesn't fix the problem.) (Update: Ok i've been playing MxO the checkerboards are still there but the fix behind this fixes the annoying indoor lagginess.)

 (1) Tweaking/Modding

 (1a) GPU Overclocking

GPU OverClocking (WARNING: May cause damage to your GPU use at your own risk)

Ok OC(short for overclocking) is a very awesome method of improving your games performance. I use a program called PowerStrip. It is completely legal, but it also will void your warranty on your card.

To leave more goto PowerStrips site here: PowerStrip

It is a very awesome program.

Breaking "Combat Evades" AKA Bubble:

Ok some of you might notice your not breaking any shields so quick. But i have the solution, everytime you go for a Bubble you need to activate the green button called "Grab" it inrease the chance of breaking a shield, it helps ALOT! I just thought i would pass that nice tip along,

Your grasp of TCP and UDP are not correct. Its more along the lines of TCP being the equivalent of a public bus (not quite as fast but great for moving large amounts of people/data in an orderly fashion, UDP is more like moving all those people on vespa scooters, where they all zip along but each scooter doesn't carry much and they won't arrive in an orderly fashion)

UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is a communications protocol that offers a limited amount of service when messages are exchanged between computers in a network that uses the Internet Protocol (IP). UDP is an alternative to the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and, together with IP, is sometimes referred to as UDP/IP. Like the Transmission Control Protocol, UDP uses the Internet Protocol to actually get a data unit (called a datagram) from one computer to another. Unlike TCP, however, UDP does not provide the service of dividing a message into packets (datagrams) and reassembling it at the other end. Specifically, UDP doesn't provide sequencing of the packets that the data arrives in. This means that the application program that uses UDP must be able to make sure that the entire message has arrived and is in the right order. Network applications that want to save processing time because they have very small data units to exchange (and therefore very little message reassembling to do) may prefer UDP to TCP. The Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) uses UDP instead of TCP. UDP provides two services not provided by the IP layer. It provides port numbers to help distinguish different user requests and, optionally, a checksum capability to verify that the data arrived intact.
In the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) communication model, UDP, like TCP, is in layer 4, the Transport Layer.

Friendly suggestion...

If people aren't responding to your threads, reposting a new thread then a new thread then a new thread with some new pictures is not going to make people care. If you really want to contribute, it shouldn't matter whether people respond or not -- if they respond, it helped, great, if they don't, you still put it out there. But when your thread is at least 80% copypasted other people's posts, and you bump it every day by adding "I posted a period" or copying a guide from MXO vault (which really doesn't belong in Tech Support), that just looks like trolling for attention.

Ok baya only 15% is copy/pasted noob, all credit goes to the owners and the reason  made a new thread was because i need reserved posts because i ran out of room and on my previous thread i didnt have any posts after my guide like i do on this one. also i am not caring if people are responding, i just explained why i made those new thread and i am not trying to bumb it. its not a trolling for attention i am also learning from my mistakes i even deleted the guide since it was to much for you

EDIT: also i am not going to quit this guide ever, unless requested by higher authority
