Not yet, anyway...

Interesting.  Then who did Broin encounter in this Sentinel issue?  Broin claimed that he litterally encountered Andres Bonifaciaeo.  Was it Paul Chadwick in-game?

Actually, I think it was.

But someone else is gonna have to back me up on that.

Broin did actually meet him in game ( I think). I believe he was played by Rarebit, though.

Anyone know how his name was written in-game?  Spaces, numbers hidden with {}, etc.?

It was Chadwick. If I recall correctly, that was a rather old issue, when Chadders was still doing them all by himself, and he went online once as Andres and happened upon Broin.

This was confirmed somewhere in an interview with Chadwick, but I don't remember where.

I know of 3 instances when an Andres appeared in-game. As some might notice, each Sentinel issue featured a different spelling of his last name. Whether this was intentional or the result of sloppiness, I'll never know.

Anyways, I know that on one occasion, a player created an Andres and ran around in-game and I remember hearing about it on the forum.

On another occasion, I played the role of Andres for an EPN introductory event we did in the early days of LESIG where I, as Andre, did a newspaper interview of an EPN member near the Mara C church. Not some of my best work. :S After that, Rarebit made a comment about not touching Paul Chadwick's personal projects.

Then there was the occasion where Broin met Andres and I don't have any info regarding that, although I'd assume if it appeared in The Sentinel, then it was Paul Chadwick himself.

The 'ban' came into effect when we got to 'take over' the Sentinel and make up new journalist characters. We tried to get permission for in-game interactions with sentinel staff, but that was a no-go.

Hey, everyone.

The day I found out I was invited to LESIG was definitely a, if not the, highlight of my MxO experience. I know a couple of people already know who I am, but to those that do not, I was Insertion of the Vector Merovingian scene. It was always the case that if I got into LESIG, I was going to dedicate as much time as I could to the program, and that's what I always tried to do. I had a fantastic time as the Recursion Machine liaison from day one. While the experience of a liaison is a bumpy one, it's been one of the best times that I have had in gaming, and will certainly remain as an experience unlike any other.

I do hope that I made working with Naidian an enjoyable experience for both friends and enemies of the Machine organization -- and I do hope that the events which Osterlind, Eventual, and myself created were worthwhile. Interacting with all players was always a fun experience for us, and in the end our drive was always to continue bringing content to the players we could.

Being a native from a hostile server, heading to Recursion was definitely a new ground for me. I'm glad I did it. The recursion community has such a great dynamic and intense personality. It made for some great role playing experiences and epic wars waged in front of Camon Central.

To the Machine and Cypherite Organizations: Thank you. Despite some particular hardships we may have gone through, I value every instance I worked with every single one of you. I do mean this sincerely.

To the Hostiles: You guys were fantastic to work with as well, especially those of you who made walking these streets a dangerous avenue.

I'm going to see if I can find some images to throw into this thread to highlight some of the more fun and crazed moments I had as a liaison, although much was lost during a hard drive wipe.

I will be available on Recursion IC until the day we all unplug from the simulation, and I do very much hope to see some familiar faces, and share some memorable moments as we head into the finale. And after this world closes, I truly do hope to see many of us coming together in an alternate MMO environment, keeping with tradition, and being a strong-close-knit community.

Sincerely,

Naidian.

Hey MxO! I can't believe this game is almost shutting down. It was a huge part of my life ever since I signed up at launch until I left at the end of 06. It was a blast while it lasted. Though I stopped playing my main RSI and never made it past level 25, I lived and breathed LESIG and threw everything I had into the characters.

Just to clear things up, I did get kicked out of LESIG. Once the plot started getting ridiculous with flying Seraph, I told one of my ex-MxO-playing friends about where things were going, and I'm guessing word passed on to Cap0ne, one of our good mutual friends (he's doing well!). I got the can shortly afterwards, and it coincided perfectly with the end of my subscription. The time I had with LESIG, though, was absolutely phenomenal. Having to constantly improvise and think philosophically deeply stretched me in ways I never expected, and it also helped me work on my writing/acting abilities. A lot of my stuff was pretty overwrought, but hopefully it was some good theater.

As far as characters I officially played for LESIG, in alphabetical order:

CorpLeon: One of The General's guys on Recursion. He never said anything and he died hard from a code pulse.

DanKasper: This was a bluepill character I made for an event where glitches were spotted down at the Uriah wharf. I missed it.

Fivetool: This guy was a member of Scanline that popped up for a single meeting on Vector. Everything he said/did was baseballl themed, and the character only lasted for about a week before I got the boot from LESIG. If anyone remembers him and his meeting at the Zion construct, kudos!

Gyrho: Gyrho was a one-time character who popped up for an event with Ghost on Vector (http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/posts/list.m?start=0&topic_id=35000003975). He was some kind of outlaw, and he never did much besides shake his fist a lot and yell at people.

JackNeilsen: He was the first person to get infected in the Shane Black event on Recursion. I forgot to take off my hat at one point as Smith, which got some laughs.

Khursun: Hooboy. Khursun was one of my absolute favorite characters to play, ever. I always wanted to play an antihero, and being a Cypherite absolutely fit the bill. I originally started this character for an event for The Rakshas, which kind of gave away my LESIG identity, but I felt good repurposing him. Even if he wasn't officially a liasion. The Cyph factions on Recursion - as well as the secret Cypherites like Ebola, Iovai, and Austrian - were some of the best company I could ever ask for. In-between coming up with a backstory, philosophizing, and spreading story rumors, I formed a really solid bond with these guys and even befriended them outside the game on occasion.

Khursun had a couple good f-ckups, including one time I think I accidentally told someone Cryptos was getting revealed (whoops!), but the HvCFT Unknown and the crazy guys who followed us around were an absolute blast to hang with. I had so much fun tormenting MadHattah (I don't think I ever told him we were purposely pissing him off), and the late nights at Camon made the whole LESIG thing worth it. I would pass on hanging out with actual friends to get online, and I felt genuinely antagonistic with other players from opposing factions (even if I agreed with them). And of course, I eventually sent Khursun up in flames. Thanks a ton of the memories with this one, guys.

Soniya: Soniya was my other favorite character to play on MxO. She also originally started as an event character named TheConcertmistress that I wanted to run, but realizing no one wanted to solve more TheJoker-esque puzzles, I gave her up to Scanline. It was weird/exciting/adventerous enough to play a convincing female character, but having to play a schizophrenic nymphomaniac was an entirely different beast. I had to completely stretch my improv/acting chops to get Soniya's character down, but it was absolutely worth it. The constant puzzled and flirtatious /tells I would get totally validated the experiment, and I talked just enough to be a constant presence but not so much to risk overexposure. I got to have teatime talks, blow kisses, and generally explore some kind of what I could only construe as my  sick, warped, and unstably murderous female side, and the confused looks and constant speculation more than paid off.

I originally wanted to incorporate Soniya into Scanline's backstory, having her as a beauty-destroying fugitive who first stole the hovercraft, but I left before final plans were laid out. Wanting to wrap up her story, I floated around the MxO sphere for a bit after I left, popping in once in a while with pre-recorded messages and the Lost Sojourn blog (http://lostsojourn.wordpress.com/). Lost Sojourn is one of my favorite writing projects ever, and it relies hugely heavily on symbolism. It basically tells the story of Soniya's apparent violent streak and descent into a pitch black psyche; please give it a read if you haven't seen it before! Cap0ne renewed my account for a month about a year ago, and I came back with a redesigned Soniya, hoping to stage some kind of grand final event for her story. The remaining LESIG (2.0?) people discredited the character and left the story for dead. Oh well.

Besides LESIG, who can forget all the other MxO memories, especially from good ol' Iterator? 500 points to anyone who remembers Aelaterdoltem, abacic, and TSMessenger. MxO had so much potential that no other MMO since has managed to bring back, and even though the bulk of it went untappped, I think we did a pretty good job squeezing dry what we could.

And that's a wrap. Thanks a TON to all you guys -  especially the Recursion Cypherites - for making MxO such a wonderful time. Nothing else in my life has even come close to the bizarrely psychological, philosophical, deeply-involving, emotional, and enlightening experience I had as a LESIG member. I felt like a rediscovered person coming out, and I hope you guys had a blast coming along for the ride.

Until I return!/Scan for the truth, dears. Teehee!

This is when LESIG was good. Shadowman is a good friend of mine that put a lot of hard work into his LESIG characters.

Well hello everyone.  Long time no see.

I don't know how many of you know my main identity.  I tried to keep it a secret, ended up telling maybe 3 people in LESIG but that was all.  In fact, I didn't even tell the one person I talk to in-game who I was.  I feel kind of bad about that.  But I was TERRIBLE at posting as my main on Harkee though, so I was sure at least some of you knew.  Hehe.  But anyway, my main is Cervacius, the little known artist wannabe who started in May 2005 after getting the game for his 15th birthday.  :p

I can honestly say, without a doubt, being in LESIG 2.0 was the best part of my ~4 year run with this game.  I got accepted towards the end of my junior year of high school and participated through out my senior year of high school and my freshman year of college.  Unfortunately, college started kicking my butt and I couldn't be as active as I was before; then Rarebit quit and it all went spirraling downhill, hence me being a ghost these last 3 months.

I don't know about you guys, but I thought Trepetia and I were a nice double-act.  Our 3rd position was plagued with dropouts from the very beginning.  (P.S. I'm so out of the loop when it comes to gossip I only found out Trep was Yasa about 2 months ago and then was too chicken to say hi    ... so HI YASA!)

But ever since I was accepted, I honestly tried my hardest to give it my all.  No, I wasn't that great of an RPer.  A lot of the time I would just jack in to Tabor West, chat around a little bit and then leave because there was nothing going on and I was terrible at thinking of something to do on the spot.  And then when Trep quit I was pretty much the only Zion LO on Syntax from then on, and without a partner to bounce around ideas with I ended up sucking pretty badly.  No excuses, just explanations.

Anywho, I guess I should take this time to thank everyone in LESIG.  Us in the group all knew we gave 100% when we could, even when the players didn't realize it or chose not to care.  I'm sure I'll thank you all personally on the LESIG boards.

There were also some awesome players I'd like to thank who were really dedicated!  So much so I was surprised they weren't in LESIG (although they probably were, I just didn't know).  People like MindsweepX, Catzi, Omega0, XXT, Coroebus and tons of others who have been with me through out my whole LESIG tenure.  You guys are awesome and I just hope I provided you all with the slightest bit of entertainment now and again.

I wasn't just Harkee, though.  Some other stuff I did included:

- I played Caprise during Catalyn's Libertas Verus storyline which was a lot of fun!
- I was TheSousChef the few times he showed up.  I had a whole storyline planned out for him that won't see the light of day.
- I was a bluepill named RogerLawson for an event on Vector.
- I wrote the Dear Aunt Ella column in the LESIG Sentinels.  I wished that had gotten more people's attention, I would have liked to actually try and solve some people's problems.  A big thank you to those who emailed Aunt Ella for her advice!!
- I created... I think 4 Scanline images BEFORE BA52, and then did BA52 through 55 for the big event we've been planning for over a year.  Just our luck we finally get it off the ground and Rarebit quits...
- Some other stuff here and there I can't remember now, obviously.

I really don't know what else to say now except I'll be around for a bit longer.  It was great fun while it lasted!

Here are some shots I was able to grab -- some old, most relatively new. If anyone has some good memories of interacting with myself and other Machine liaisons they'd like to share, please do (via PM or on this thread). It would be great to archive some of the best moments we've shared.

You were a great Liaison for us and Zion have been waiting for a new Liaison for almost a year!! No doubt we were pissed. When you two came it was really what Zion needed and I am sure that most everyone in Zion appriciate what you did!

So thanks again for a good job and hanging with us for that long time.
