I'm curious what they'll do with the actual gameplay though.. the clips in the video look like they just show various "kill" animations with all of their sweeping camera movements and whatnot.  Hopefully the actual combat outside of those kill animations will be deeper than it has been in the past.

In any case, though, the video is impressive even if it may not be indicative of the final gameplay.

I say if it aint broke dont fix it. The thing that makes god of war so great is the superb balance and pacing of the gameplay with a combination of combat, puzzles, story, graphics, and boss fights. The way they put it together and the delivery is just so outstanding in both GoW games that to change it now would be a bad idea I'n my opinion.

Only 3 changes need to be made from the 1st 2 games.

1. graphics need to be a hefty notch up,

2. Phsyics, and character modles need to be a hefty notch up,

3. New story, cuz obviously we can't replay an old one... that would be silly SMILEY

I agree that a change would be odd at this point, but after playing the Ninja Gaiden games (and even DMC to some extent), the combat in GoW is so lacking.  I like that GoW focused more on puzzles and "the world" and less on just combat, but it couldn't hurt to make it a little less mashtastic.  Of course, NG was created by a dev team that knows how to make fighting games, so they know intricate combat and it was likely easier for them starting from that knowledge base.

I'll save my OMG AWESOMES until they show a demo playthrough and not bits and pieces of something. But I loooooooooooove God of War, and I'm sure this one will not disappoint either.
