"To be great is to be misunderstood"

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is a powerful statement. It is one of self service, of independence, and of the knowledge of yourself. When you read his work called Self-Reliance it will make more sense. On a more interesting note though, who does this most represent in the Matrix? Zion? No. They do things for their beloved city. They do things to help everyone. But when people need them the most they are waiting on their asses for someone to do something. Machines? No. They do things that help the system. And even then THEY have to see it! THEY have to know about it! But they are so busy thinking they are gods that they don't see the WHOLE picture. The Merovingian? Yes. Why? Why him?! The Merovingian doesn't care about anything! Wrong. He cares about what benefits him. And who helps him get his work done? Us. WE are the Merovingian's strength, his pride, and his honor. The people that help him he rewards greatly! When he does something he does it for himself, yes. But in turn for helping him, he helps you. So if you are getting help from him, then how can he be greedy? How can he only do things for himself if everything he does is for his benefit ends up benefiting us?

This phrase is alive in the Merovingian! He is great! He is strong! He does things Zion AND the Machines would never do. Why? Because he does them for himself. For his own gain. Which in turn becomes YOUR gain. You think Zion would ever do something that would help them personally? Or the Machines do something not involving the system? They wouldn't! It would be too...greedy, too illogical. Consider this. How can the Machines help you if they are more worried about their system rather then you? If you said to them it would help the system to shut down the hardlines for ten minutes. They would. If you told Zion the only way to save the city is to destroy their food supply and not eat for ten days. They would. Tell this to the Merovingian. And he wouldn't move till he knows how this would benefit him. Of course you could make up a reason. But remember. The Merovingian is a trafficker of information. There is little you can tell him that he doesn't already know. The Merovingian is great because he is misunderstood. SOME Zionites and Machinists alike spit slander in his face. Poison is reputation with lies. I ask you this: What do you gain from helping Zion? Freedom? Hope? Some false sense of security? Or a crazy man going mad looking for a dead body! What do you gain from helping the Machines? A false sense of security? Bragging rights? Or the safe bet that if they thought it was good for the system they would rip apart Mega City?

You may be asking: What do YOU get for working with “that Frenchie“?. I'll tell you what WE, all who work for him, get. We get to know that as long as we do a good job we get to live. We get to make the Merovingian proud of us and maybe even get him to like having us around. In which case we become something he is not about to let go of. If we do a good job. We get REAL protection. Because who wants to drop someone who is a valuable asset? The Merovingian is a fair man. You help him. He helps you. You hurt him. And well...your future isn't looking too good. Cause and effect. Which bring me to an end. The sad truth. Prejudice. This war was started because of it. And it will be the death of us all. Most of the Zionites and Machinists alike feel it for the Merovingian. Why? Because he isn't human! Because he is an exile! You beat him down with words and yet he still bests you! Did you ever stop to think that maybe…. Maybe…. This program spoke more truth than the Agents or Zion? Causality. Cause and effect. There is no choice! Who freed you is who you worked for till something happened and you went somewhere else! What choice is that! Once you take that red pill choice is gone! In the Matrix everything is causality. And it truly is sad. That the one you hate so much is the only one willing to repay you for services AND tell you the truth...

Consider what I have said. Think it over. I do not do this for praise. I do this because I am tired of all this hatred for this man. Most of you will hate me. That is just proving causality to be true even more....

:: Applauds:: Couldn't be better said, Sinn. I hope everyone who sees this takes it to heart, regardless of which organization they work in, and I hope the newly Awakened see it as well, to give them a different perspective.

With the right words, rabbid wolves become timid sheep, people will always believe what they want to believe. They will act accordingly.

That being said the smarter force arms themselves with tools that cannot be coerced with simplicity.

The only thing I would add to this, would be to bring to light an arguably ancient, yet no less telling transmission in a similar vein by one of the most respected -- and truly feared -- Merovingian operatives, whom I had the privilege to serve under and who, by example for good or worse, helped shape me into the leader I strive to be today:

So knowledge is power?

Ah yes. In fact he inspired me to give a go at this.  You took this to heart and thought of it. Then you will lose sleep over what he has to say. No I didn't copy. I just thought deeply about what he had to say and made my own little point of view.  You'll find his to be a lot more detailed though.

One thing the Red Dragon was, is and always will be is erudite and inspiring, albeit in a verbose fashion. He would be honored to know that you took his words to heart.
