I prefer click here, it clearly tells you what ya gotta do to learn what you want, hyper linked random words of sentences is confusing and not all that attractive.

but thats just me i guess SMILEY

Click here is redundant and bad form. especially when you can use stylesheets to clearly indicate where your links are. Furthmore, the linked words are hardly random, they are in fact the most relevant words to link, even more than "click here" which doesn't tell you what you are clicking for. And really, do you need to be told to click a link when you can actually see it's a link for yourself?

vc precisa de uma key, para isso tem que comprar o jogo.
Posso aconselhar, a baixo preço os seguintes sites:
Direct2Drive
Amazon

Não se esqueça que tem que pagar por mês para jogar, com cartão de credito, aproximadamente 15.00$.
Espero que tenha ajudado >.<

I'd like to see some mention of the Machine or Merovingian orgs; it seems everything for newbies is delivered specifically by Zion personnell. While RP-wise this makes sense as players always start to Zion, delivering a guide in this format would probably serve to further org unbalance instead of remedy it.

Also, one thing I think that needs to be fixed ASAP is the Attribute Archetype descriptions INGAME. The Character Creation screens still show the CR1 definitions, a la Perception = MA, etc - and even if this guide is popped up in a web browser ingame as part of the tutorial, by then the character is created with the (wrong) attributes and it's too late.

Hehe... Keep working on them White Hallways! :O

I was reading the Guide and it seems to be very... Basic (As what is needed, I guess)--However, just something you might want to note is this:

"As a newly awakened coppertop, you have a lot to learn about how the Matrix works now that you are unplugged."

Repeating ourselves, are we, Tyndall? Heh. But yes. I might suggest keeping the Guide either OOC or IC to prevent conflict. Better yet, allow for the first most basic section to be written OOC and other sections, that talk about characters and alliances and organizations and all of that, to be STRICTLY In-Character. I'm pretty sure you could get any player like Chuui or someone to give you better pointers... I don't know.

Not too sure about better pointers, but I do agree that it mustn't deal with just Zion. Perhaps write it from the point of view of your Hoverbarge Operator and not Tyndall. She only really comes into the picture during the introduction missions, whereas your Hoverbarge/Hovercraft Operator is *always* with you. That would also avoid the Zion bias that we unfortunately currently have.

If I can find time, perhaps I'll have a go at writing something, but I'm pretty pressed right now =/

Speaking as a zionite I'd have to say I'd have no problem at all with using a character other than Tyndall.

It would kind of make sense, to me, if an agent of the system delivered the quick start guide rather than the controller for Zion. How about Agent Pace? Or even our old friend Agent Gray? He never gets any publicity. lol. You'd think he'd be more famous after everything he's been through. SMILEY

 Just a thought. /shrug

Personally i think that a good tutorial is everything.
and especially for new players, they get overwhelmed by the option and complexity of the Matrix.

 The Tutorial starts off good
(how the pictures look in this phase are not important, more about the content)

Well the tutorial covers the basics.
but what i do miss is stuff further up the road like,

Collectors, Hideouts, Archives, explaining coding.
how you buy new abilities,

I as a lvl50 get a lot of questions concerning these subject when i'm helping new red pills.

2nd i would like to add that, its a good effort to make a new and helpfull tutorial since the new combat system 2.0 is in order.

 Good Job...keep it up

I think the guide is a great start.  To me one of the critical parts of a new user in MxO is the difference between the Hostile server and the others and while its mentioned here it doesn't get the explanation that it needs. Players need to understand whas "being hostile" to everyone after level 16 means so they can choose if this is the playstyle they want to be a part of, otherwise they will end up having to re-roll a character on another server when they figure it out.

Good stuff so far, folks. Keep it coming.

Please do keep in mind that this is designed to be something that can be gone through in a short amount of time. It needs to cover the absolute basics to help a new player get into the game and playing--more advanced topics like crews and factions and the nitty-gritty of coding can come in other guides.

The art suggestions will be helpful when I hand this off to the web team. But I do realize the images aren't great--this is a "draft" guide. So, specific comments about the current images aren't necessary at this point--they'll be better in the final version.

Yes, the initial loadout portion isn't done. I forgot to pull the link out. Eventually, it will need to be there.

Thanks again for the comments!

No offense, but hardly anyone is going to read the guide unless it pops up in-game. Most noobs would rather be frustrated with the game and leave rather than take the time to go to the website and click two links.

Will there be some sort of pop-up window in-game, like the Sentinel?
Anamodiel has a point here... Perhaps start all characters with a "Welcome to The Matrix" or "Red Pill Handbook" that spawns the popup window when used?
