I'm sure this topic has been brought up before, but the recent code bombing and such makes it an even more important matter. PvP really needs to be sort of...Truce vs. Non-Truce. As in machines being able to attack Cypherites, and Zionites being able to attack EPN. I'm not saying they have to have their own org with their own missions and such, I'm just saying for at least during pvp, The splinter orgs should flag for everyone.

I'd like to think that could work, sadly in an environment where the lowest common denominator can ruin anything and everything I just see chaos...... At the moment there is no consequence to either death or killing, therefore we are totally reliant on the individual to 'behave appropriately'....lets have real consequences that make you consider your actions and then yeah I'm all for this idea.

In the meantime I do think allowing the splinter orgs a distinct pvp status makes a lot of sense....cyphs have more in common with Merovs than machines I just can't see the well ordered machines tolerating the more extreme behaviour of cyph or EPN. And EPN should find out just how isolated their purile aims makes them.

Tytanya's right, though. People would end up shooting their own orgs out of boredom.

Strongly support. I can't wait till the day that Zion doesnt adress EPN as "Fellow" Zionites. I'm also shocked that many don't understand that EPN is NOT part of Zion. They are fanatic traitors and nutcases. They've been stealing ships and hijacking them. Therefore offensive measures should be taken. :/

I wonder how hard it would be to implement an "Always flagged to X player list." Similar to the ignore list, however, if you place someone on the list, you appear flagged to them and only them. Your own org, other orgs, whatever. That way, you wouldn't have to worry about "IRNeo111PWNTBICH" being the lowest common denominator.

I always thought a faction war panel would be the best way to go, ala Eve Online.

Have a panel where a faction leader can declare war on another faction.  The faction leader of the opposing faction receives a war declaration, and can choose to accept it or deny it.  If accepted, those two factions would flag against each other, regardless of organization.  You could also declare alliances.  Truces would be much easier to uphold that way.  Imagine, zdn1, if in PvP, there was a way to make it so that The Trust and the Mega City Department of Energy didn't flag up to each other.

But yeah...  if anything, Cypherites and E Pluribus Neo REALLY need to be flaggable to the other orgs.  It would really make the pvp in this game all the more exciting.

Erm... you realize that there are... mmm... like 4 Cypherite 50s (and Kerevola) on Recursion, right?

There's an official response to this somewhere. Much like alot of other things, it can't be done. Takes far too much to make an org.

But if they can org lock a building so that only Cypherites can enter (as was done a few days ago on Recursion), shouldn't it be possible to make a Cyph (or EPN) flag to anyone not a Cyph (or EPN)?

Specifically, there's other things tied to how you flag that are far too integrated to be altered. Such as missioning, reputation, etc.

Currently, the CYPH tag falls under Machines for missions and reputation. EPN falls under Zion. Changing it so that EPN or CYPH flags to their parent orgs would mean that they're no longer in those parent orgs -- as the game wouldn't make sense of it. Now you need two more Org Controllers -- Shimada and Veil -- and you'd also need new mission contracts for each chapter. So instead of an update every 1.5 months or so, it'd be every 3 months. I don't want four updates in a year.
