From listening-in from the sidelines, I kept thinking of a Chinese Finger Trap when considering the dialogue that was going on. SMILEY

Cphar obviously has issues and I was bitting my lip with all the honey-soaked recruitment campaign of the Machinsits. He is vulnerable and simply wished for the return of his security blanket; for whatever purpose he has for it...

I'm with Gray on this one: ZAITSO holds no useful purpose to The Machines and is just a silent confessor to whomever should wish to use it. Yet, for all their false sympathies, the Machinists voted to deprive ZAITSO from the bewildered Cphar, on the spurious pretext that it held secrets concerning The Kid.

Score 1 for the caring face of The Machines: A publicity coup if ever I saw one.

I understand that Ziatsu was not sentient, it is simply a matter of, just because a program does not hold a strict and "logical" purpose to Gray, does not mean it is worthless to someone else. Please return to him his friend, no matter how you judge him, it would be a nice PR move from the machines and show their general care for humanity. I hope all works out of Cpahr, the mentally ailed are humans too regardless the stigmas attached.

Stigmas? Mentally Ailed? What is this? Bash the nut job's live event week? I will say not all nut jobs are as in need for a Sim to talk to or vice versa.. But some just tend to talk to... others.... then those around them.. *grins* In fact. Joe and the sim would love to hang with me being the "so-called" nut case i am. XD

But seriously Stop bashing the nut jobs this week for events.. Especially on syntax.. makes me look bad.... >_< I mean nut jobs have feelings to you know..

Did you even read my post? It was supporting Cpahr and his emotional attachment to Ziatsu. And I believe Mentally Ailed is a better term then Nutjob.

((Yeah there was, But I was swearing, which is probably why it got removed, anyway I will say what I said again without swearing.))

You Machinists are absolutely and totally a bunch of misreable gits, you gone and depraved a guy from his Aid. You people are without any charity or compassion. Proc and Vinia, You can take the words "Tactical Advantage" And shove it up your *Beep* because as far as I am concerned, your purely just a bunch of misreable digusting *beep*holes who just take what you *CENSORED* well please, nothing but a bunch of Thugs and Fascists.

((That should do it, I hope))

(( Right, I shall now try to reconstruct my post. Bah, the effort...

And Mods: If you find something bad about our posts, censor the problem, not the whole post! Jurymen can keep his head level when moderating, why can't you? Moderate with moderation. ))

Dude, give it a rest. We took ZAITSO because there was a very strong possibility that it was the Kid's little toy as well, and would therefore contain useful information on him and and give us an insight into his addled brain. This potential advantage was weighed against Cpahr's immediate mental wellbeing and won out.

Unfortunately, while I think the transcript made it clear that ZAITSO may have had something to do about Popper (viz. we suddenly got all interested in it), it left out crucial lines that made it very clear:

ZAITSO: How is your friend Michael?
ZAITSO: Michael used to talk with me also. Friends are important.
ZAITSO: Michael missed Neo, right?

We didn't take ZAITSO away just for the hell of it - we had a reason. You may not like the reason, but this is war and a tactical advantage is a tactical advantage. Granted, there were a couple of voices who were calling for the program to be killed outright, but that was before we realised how important it was to Cpahr.

((and I said something along the lines of....))

Proc, don't bother trying to explain to him. Quite frankly I'm amazed at the fact that some people still complain over our actions and motives, due to the fact that they are not clued up on the full details. We are at war. if that program has information about the leader of our enemy then we shall be all up for trying to recover that information. You would do the same if you had the opportunity to recover some info or details about Pace or Gray. As soon as we find out the information, if there is any, about this Michael person, who may or may not be Popper, then I have no problems in giving Cphar his little program back. However, we didn't deprive him of it, he had to have had it in his posession to be deprived of it, he didn't have it, he left it when he moved to new Zion. It was just chance that the Machines still had a copy. He has survived this long without it, I honestly can't see what is wrong with keeping it a little longer.

If it were up to Gray, he may have well have said to destroy it as he thought it was worthless, how would that have come across to the poor sap? Machinists, who have often spoken about how rash some decisions from the Machines are decided, with the idea to recover some possible info from it, to save it from possible deletion and many being in the mind to return it after.

((This is a little less eloquent than my original post, but as Proc says... Effort in repeating myself exactly... nah...))

It was an exercise in how we humans where reacting to the situation at hand.  And dealing with an .... annoying abnormality.  Gray was monitoring us the whole time if anyone didn't really notice.  Didn't anyone else but me find it a little unusual that we spent so much time bantering with such an insignificant program?  Normally either the Zionite would have just gotten his "puppy" back or it would have been simply deleted on the spot.  Such is the way of the Machines.  We where being used as guinea pigs again.  Gotta love that feeling don't you?  It might have some interesting information on the EPN leader we can use.  That was it's one redeeming quality.  But the major point was - Gray's intention was to STUDY US!  We are always uner constant observation be our machine counterparts.  Even though we work for them.  Even as operatives we willingly/ or sometimes unwhittingly provide them with "field study" on our human behaviors.  Perhaps we should not forget this.  Big Brother Gray is ALWAYS watching us.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
((Anyway - That was fun!  Loved coming up with some on-liners.  Ppl seemed to like my cracks about Arnold J. Rimmer (Red Dwarf reff.).  I got some tells about that SMILEY.  And a sting on Pace "If Pace where here she would have told us to kill it already!"  That was a good one SMILEY. Well you know she would have ...

Heehee - I can't help but notice these screencaps used ....
Uhm ... who's been looking at my behind *raises eyebrow*
How am I looking?  I'm lookin' niiiiiice!
And NO - I am NOT dating Vogt.

And the beautiful Illyria shot is really sweet too!  She's awesome isn't she?
And so is the gal in the moon silver dress.  Woowoo!

Gotta love those beauty shots, Huh Rarebit sweetie? ;D

Oh - the guys?  Uuuh - If Ziabotso-whatsisface had a hologramatic "H" on his forhead - he would have looked like Arnold J Rimmer from Red Dwarf.  I would say - probably about ... 3 or 4th season Red Dwarf Rimmer.  He was just about as annoying. ))
