I'm making this post to get your opinion. What do you think is better when making a new character on another server? Should you just add a few letters to your name or switch and i with l and make basically the same character? Should you create a new character that has a new and unique name and personality?
[[I personally suggest diff name/character because you can experience RP in a different way, but obviously you can do w/e you want, I was thinking of making myself a duplicate

I name and RP all of my characters completely differently. If I want someone to know who my main is, I tell them OOC. I generally do this before I have an alt join a faction because it's better for them to know that I have a main in another organization before some nub in the faction starts going "OMG IT'S NEOTENY - SPY, SPY!" when, in fact, I don't share information gathered from one charcter to another. So it's better to establish that kind of thing with a faction before or shortly after joining.
I also find that there's a bit of a naming scheme that I use.
Zion has operatives with seemingly more random and scattered names. Those NPCs named Africa? They'd probably be Zionites.EPN has names sort of closer to democratic values and the early republics. Of course there's also your standard Iamneolol, but you should avoid that.Cypherites have names which represent their mystery or conversion to the Cypherite side, and can occassionally relate to dreaming or subjugation.Merovingian Operatives tend to go with a more mythical/mystical sounding name to coincide with most of their exile leadership. Not all, though.Machinists seem to go with more technical names.
I have at least two characters on each server; three on recursion. No, you may not have their names. The fact that most of you didn't know this is testament to how different they are.
I've got Yasamuu(my main on vector), xYasx(Syntax) and Yasamuu1(Recursion). Personally, I regret making them identifiable as being me. For example, I do play Machinist on Vector and Syntax but on Recursion I play as a Cypherite and it's difficult for people, myself included at times, to seperate their characters due to the fact they're of a similar name. I would have liked to have diversified my character on syntax a little too, but as-per my experience on Recursion I already knew there'd be little point in doing so. It's the choice I made and I have to stick with it
