You should've come to Mara C, we were partying with Virrago, that's probably where the cat in the screenshot came from

I don't think so. Virrago was using his apply mask ability to turn people's RSI into a Cat. That cat isn't an RSI, it's a world object. It's still there and unless Rarebit can remove it manually, it'll go next Thursday.

It was probably placed by Rarebit who could have been looking into Vista clothing issues on the game server.. or he was just having a laugh.

Ah right! I didn't realize it was a glitch kitty, I thought it was just someone with the cat model.

Going through and trying to check that my mass changes to the NPC models fixed all the Vista stuff. Still running into a few stray things here and there. For instance, the construct samurai chicks caused some trouble with their unique models

I fixed the surface stuff, but they'd still make your screen go blank if you got more than ~60m away. ;| Finally just had to shut off their further LODs, so now if you can spot them that far off, you'll just see their hands, floating around. But at least you can see.

I'm impressed that the vista fixes seem to be working, though im still curious if we can expect any sort of additional content outside of the new textures and missions.

And if you've noticed the like... i dunno 1 or 2 people who still want live events, i don't think there's many of them anymore.

Nicely done with the textures though, it'll be nice to not have a blank screen while sitting in camon and doing nothing.

So how much will these changes affect people using XP?

Considering XP users weren't glitching out hopefully we won't see anything out of the ordinary, perhaps a few cleaned up textures maybe?

Then again, whats the bets that graphics will look horribly wrong for XP users because of the Vista fixes?

For the most part the changes should be literally transparent for XP users. The construct samurai ("Warrior") NPCs disappearing past 60 yards is the most overt change you should see, and I'm not too happy about having to resort to that. Other things you'll notice if you look really hard will be:

- NPCs that had shiny surface effects on their gloves (polished leather, etc) will no longer have that shiny effect, for the most part

- Antediluvian simulacra will still be shiny, but it'll be a slightly different shine, 'cause I had to rebuild it using a new surface type (Vista didn't care for the old one)

- added an armband to male Hel Club Guards who have the purple caps (this magically fixed their rendering problem)

- if you go into Stealth while disguised as a female Hel Club Guard, you'll see tiny little strips (magic Vista band-aids!) floating next to your hands

- if you go into Stealth as a small male RSI with no coat on, you'll see a couple tiny little strips floating around your RSI

- with some female shirts (or naked torso) where you could just barely see your chest tattoo around the edge of the shirt while wearing the shirt + coat, as well as with some dresses that similarly partially hid the tattoo, that bit of the tattoo will now not be visible in that clothing combination

That's about it so far. I'm also throwing in fixes for clothing combination problems with male Boucher/Winter coats that were not Vista-specific.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and guess the one that has the ghost effect going all the time whose name I can't remember and sure as heck can't read.

The Bag Lady also looks kind of strange... perhaps her?

The first one you mean is Cerulean, and no, she's all right.

It was indeed The Bag Lady, and the strange part would be that her hair wasn't rendering. Also, although you can't really tell from that screenshot, her coat is all weird and shiny; it's all something to do with the combination of her open collar shirt, that belted coat, and probably also the gloves she's wearing. Fortunately, that combination is pretty rare among NPCs, so I only had to go in and fix a few by hand (her and Ms. Boots).

That didn't very much clarify who she is but ok. When is it that you plan to have this out to us? Wondering when I should finally upgrade to vista.

Mrs. Boots is one of the thugs who protects Argon (I think) in one of the PB missions. There's a whole crew of characters there, like Pixie Licious and that guy who's name is a Shakespearean word for a cat. I think Mrs. Boots is the slightly gothy/dressed in all black one.

OHHH that mission where you fight like someone from every tree the grey mkt, the white dressed ma, the orange duelist I remember now. I should redo it, it was fun, except one or two seemed to always walk out on me.
