As a bit of an aside, are TF2/Portal etc. good enough to warrant the extra $40 for the full Package?

Most definately.

Purchased this game a few nights ago, and I've been hooked on it ever since. Out of the 20 or so games I've played, I've been Bill for like 16 of them >.<

I guess it likes me being a chain smoking, vietnam veteran old man.
I've been all four characters though, and some of the conversations they have are just hilarious.

The demo was fun enough that I'll probably buy this for myself for Christmas. As a bit of an aside, are TF2/Portal etc. good enough to warrant the extra $40 for the full Package? I watched some TF2 gameplay videos and they look pretty good.

Portal is a well-done puzzle game than has some funny pitch-black humor. It's not necessarily a very long game, but it doesn't overstay its welcome.

TF2, on the otherhand, is a great multiplayer experience. The game is surprisingly balanced as well as the continuous class update patches that provide the game with more content.

The Legend of Chicago Ted

Mm, also, I usually don't like referencing Yahtzee, but he actually gave L4D something of a praise, which, if I have my "Zero Punctuation Score Card" written correctly, makes it one of the best games ever (in his book, at least... if I have my math right).

He liked portal Better, And has stated that Half life is good (better than halo anyway) So that makes Valve pretty much a bucket full of awesome. in his book, at least  SMILEY
