I'm Fairly new to MXO ( I signed on about a month after rare left when people were still worried about the game, but not frustrated by lack of Info on SOE's part) and I'm starting this thread to say a BIG WELCOME!!! to all the new players on MXO! I thought there was a farily low influx of new players on this game but I'm seeing alot of new faces lately. Now I'm not sure how all these people are hearing about our little community, But I for one am glad they're giving MXO a shot. The game could use a little attention from SOE, BUT I'm still having alot of fun.

My Handle is Tornadic. I'm on recursion. if you're new and looking for some advice fell free to send me a tell.

Any other redpills out there have some words of wisdom for our new friends?

Hi everyone!

I'm new as well...started playing about a month ago.

I think it all comes down to what you make of the game. I've been having lots of fun with people from ET, TB, my family Lords of War, other people from Zion, and also machine people like tornadic whom I sometimes run archives with and stuff like that. I know many players that started out around the same time as I did: vericon, mustachio, tyler, diesel, rivafaith...etc who are all in the 20-30 lvl range already.

To all new redpills out there, the best way to enjoy the game in my opinion is to take the first step. Get to know other players, ask them if you can join them for missions, farming etc, ask questions, and try to join a faction that goes with your interests (rp for example, etc) Lots of players like thepiggy, PS1ON, Heero237, Kloren, drkmagic, click, Haxadec, and others will be glad to help you lvl and give you good advice. Remember: if you just sit around Mara C waiting for the fun to "happen" then you won't really enjoy the game. Add people to your buddy list!!! Get involved!

...and if you happen to be in Recursion----->PinkPixie always down to kill stuff and hang out SMILEY

If you're interested in the storyline at all, I'd recommend heading to your organizational archivist and run some of the old critical missions.  Zion is in Moriah, Merovingian in Appollyon, and Machine in Midian.  Look for the book symbol on your map.  Not only will you get to live the Matrix story, but you can get some unique items too...  such as an Agent suit, or glasses w/ earpiece, camo beret, various special effects, etc.

Also, search out the neighborhood contacts and pick up the missions they have to offer.  There is one in almost every neighborhood and their missions will help you to discover the rich underground story that the Matrix has to offer.

There's definitely a lot to see and do in MxO, most of which can be done solo.  However, if you want some good group challenges, consider running an exile hideout or hitting up the archive constructs.

Oh!  Another little tidbit...  if you're interested in the stories behind some of the exile gangs, you can right-click them and read their details.  It's flavor text, but some of it is quite interesting.
