Saw it Fri night. Thought it was awesome. Good action good story, and option for sequel.
BUT:
Any TMNT fans will be greatly disappointed: if anyone remembers the old movies, Splinter was Shredders rat, and he cut off Splinters ear. This is a pretty big issue as it set up the first 2 movies w/Shredder. But in the new CGI, Splinter has both ears. Not really that noticeable at first, but when u think about it, it does the series an injustice.
Only dissappointable to hardcore picky fans like me.
7/10 cause of Ear.

Took my son to see it yesterday and it was great.  They goofed up on Splinters ear.  He is supposed to only have 1 ear and how they missed that huge detail escapes me.

I heard it was crap on a crutch.   People!  There are a ton of excellent movies out there, why see a crappy infantile movie like this?  The only reason pople would see this is if the are eight or they were eight when the original show came out and they have some kind of nostalgia for it or something.   I heard The Lookout is absolutely amazing....it comes out this Friday.

Remember spending money on a movie is like voting...the more money people spend on a movie the more likelyhood they will make more crappy movies just like them.

I watched it earlier over at a website that shall not be named, I thought it was brilliant. Perfect tension between Raph and Leo, just like the oldschool turtle flicks. And they didn't screw up Michelangelo either, just the right balance of one liners and cheese.

Although the Kim possible lookalike otherwise known as April O'Neil was a bit dodgy. Same can be said for Splinter, but hey looks like TMNT2 will be along in no time, thanks to the foot clans irrelevant and out of the blue announcement...

Just who was the girl that was leading the "Foot" by the way?  Was she Shredders daughter or something?

That first statement negates your entire post.  The Topic is 'TMNT Review'.  How can you re-view something you've never viewed?  Until you can make a constructive post concerning the elements of this film then you have no basis upon which to post in here.

More on-topic, I really really enjoyed this movie.  The CGI was really good, cartoon-ish, but not too much so.  I'm really happy that this movie takes place post-Shredder.

Casey Jones's character wasn't gritty enough for my tastes.  He was the bad-boy, like Raph.  He just needed a little more umph in his character.  Also, Splinter didn't look like I imagined him to, he should've looked less cute-sy.

And the fight scenes? Fogetaboutit! SMILEY

I was probobly around 8 when the originals came out. TMNT are awsome, so shut up, you dont have to see it, why would you tell others they shouldnt.

Are you talking about the cartoon show or the Comic?

I liked how they made it a sequel to the old ones. (A la the scene with the relics from previous movies *That's not a spoiler really, it wasn't necessary to the plot).

The only discrepancies I noticed was April not being a news reporter and the thing about Splinter's ear, which I didn't notice until reading Satta's post. I forgot about that little detail.

And Satta, your question about Karai (the girl leading the Foot Clan), I visited a friend of mine on Saturday and he was watching a marathon of the new Turtles series on Cartoon Network. According to that series, she is in fact Shredder's adopted daughter.
