Graphics are totally everything in a video game. NOT LOL
Do you play video games for just pretty colors, or for entertainment?
They're not?? so why are we now getting games that are over 30+ gig in size? Why do you think we need the best pc's out to play the latest game on full settings. Games are losing their playabiltiy because game producers think looks are more important that the actual gameplay. Its the way things are going now unfortunately....... there is no entertainment in a massive amount of games that have been released recently

Not necessarily. But I guarantee you that the people who put out those video cards will latch onto game producers (COUGH EA COUGH) and pressure them to push out games as fast as possible. That's another reason why you see the same Sports game, every year, with a few new features, and slightly better graphics. It's a way to make money.
Valve on the other-hand has been noted for generally being slow with the creation of their products, understandably. Sure they can make a *CENSORED* game, which is rare, but they arn't rushed like EA. "It's done when it's done." and that's why they make decent games that people play.
I also have to completely disagree with your last statement, because honestly it sounds like you just don't like PC games, or if that extends to Video games as well, then that too.

Where is my scout update?!
Btw, wouldn't it have made a hell of a lot more sense if they just did one big update instead of having everyone flocking to one class each time they decide to finish one?
Spies are going to get rocked once theirs hit.
It takes about two months for them to come out with an update just for one class. 9 classes, 2 which have been done so.. 7, that's 14 months, a little over a year to come out with all that. I don't think people are willing to wait an entire year without content.
You know basic math, good job.
That sucks on their part, the achievements and unlocks should have been ready to go at launch. Nothing we can do about that now, but still, maybe they should have decided against catering to the "gimmie nao" crowd and make us wait for something a little more complete and balanced.
Actually, I believe the Orange Box was the first of all Valve games to even include achievements, and it was just experimental. Due to positive feedback about the achievements, and probably a nod to the success of Achievements from the Xbox, they decided to make more, and along with that new content for each class. When you make a game, you don't say, "Alright, we'll make the basic game, then we'll add more onto that, and then more onto that, etc." because then people will play for like a month, and then you have no more content to offer them because you wasted it all on the release. Releasing new content, like, surprise surprise, MxO on a loosely based schedule, people are usually drawn back to experience new content.
That's also why you see these "free-weekends" pop up around the release date of these free-content patches. To draw more people into the game.
It would be nice to have everything at once, but from a realistic and economical view, drawing everything out means more new potential customers, which means more money.

Yeah, and it's because of fools who think graphics are everything. They spend too much time developing the game to look pretty, but not enough time on coming up with fun, new concepts (which grow rarer every year). Games to be good just take too long to publish now. They just spit out something JUST GOOD ENOUGH that some people will buy it, with the least amount of development time possible. There's less and less great, very enjoyable games. Same with the movie industry kinda. Lack of new ideas, obsession with making everything look pretty.

Think, games that come out during the release of a highly-anticipated movie. They usually always suck, and there's a good reason for that.

Mm. The Iron Man game, I think, has hit an all-time low in the history of blockbuster games. You're absolutely right about gaming these days, with few exceptions (The Star Wars, Ep III game held its own: It wasn't magnificent, but it kept you playing. Then again, they were making that months before the game even came out). The market is, unfortunately, saturated by companies who aren't devoted to gaming (Nintendo, Atari, Capcom etc.) and are full of companies looking to make money by branching into gaming, and they're not making any money so long as they rush games out in about 2 months. The main problem is, you can't make good games quickly, but you sure as *poop* can make bad games fast. So you have to search for the good games through the piles of crap ones.
...But to tie this all in: Games with good graphics and loud noises aren't always the best. Although TF2 has pretty sweet graphics, it's the gameplay that trumps everything else in that game, and should for any game, to be honest. Just like Flecky said.
