The quote was not meant to try and summarize the machine movement as it is right now, but know who it is the machines are working for. They have killed, and emulated humans as well as they could.
The machines have staked claim long ago, in fact, the quote from the representaive floor was from the machine itself. If humanity did not discriminate against the machine the first time it peacefully took the floor, they could have prevented all of this.
Nothing will trump the human decision to deprive the earth of the sun. You say that you fight with the machines to bring back sunlight. I have been to the surface, had not see any machines working towards that cause. It is an ear-mark on a bill that will never pass as long as there are "extremists" out there who work to bring down the system. The only way it would become a priority of any kind is as a reward to humanity. The machines can out live humanity in this state of stalemate, and I would not suggest calling them on the bluff. SkyNeT has drawn this conclusion from the studies of both past and present situations.
It appears that we fight for the same right to the natural gift that is light, we just go about it differently.

I let go of my flesh a long time ago... and have been a part of every org except for one since being awakend. All orgs have flaws and drawbacks.

Our future envisions organic & mechanic as individuals to define one world which creates many. We are realists because we accept the fact that the machines have already won the surface war, and move to protect those who do not have a voice or a choice right now. The MAJORITY of life left on earth.
