Mobius code was never a beta item. Both Mobius Code and HJ Beta had their exclusiveness ruined by later being given out with trial accounts. Beta accounts still have the advantage of getting HJ Beta free on EVERY character created forever (trial accounts get it on one character only) and now have the ability to also acquire Mobius Code. After marketing screwed the pooch, the issue has now been fixed in a way that benefits everyone.
And what is it with you vet players being too chicken to take your alts into datamine so they can get MC and HJB themselves? Sheesh, get some balls and use your twinks like the man you want everyone to think you are.
Hey dude...who say's we don't have them already and before they were released to everyone.

I do so prove me wrong. Show me that every character ever rolled on every beta account also has Mobius Code.
Have fun!

Not picking on Cap or anything, but this is an example of what I was afraid of. What's to stop the devs from giving out the Burning Eye trench or the Beta clothing, now that these other "veteran" abilities have been compromised?
And argue all you want about how HJB and MC aren't Veteran abilities. My argument is that they were, because they marked you as being a player who was around duing certain significant milestones in the game, specifically, the pre-order period and the Death of the Destroyer event.
No one in MxO would have asked for Mobius or HJBeta if it stayed like that, but it didn't, the Devs messed up and gave them out willy nilly to anyone who played from a trial (which lets face it, is everyone now) and that screwed over every single person in between as they can be pretty useful abilities when your lucky (complete Immunity from everything) not to mention people getting rideculed for using a H-Pill after they use Mobius.
I think it is safe to say that everyone there was joking when they were saying they'd like to get a chance to get those items, as much as I'd like a FM-1500 I would never want them to have it openly available in a quest, I'd rather get it in a Live Event of some sort, Zion Operative bust into a Machine stronghold and discover a couple FM-1500s which Niobe emails to them later ^^

Once again, if they didn't decide to give out 'Veteran' abilities as a joining incentive then the rest of us wouldn't have had a problem with it and would most likely not have them now. People are asking for the BET and beta clothing only because they'd really like it, not really because they'll think they'll get it.
And people didn't think they'd ever really get HJB or MC, either. We see what's happened there, though, haven't we?
These two abilities were special, they had value. What do you give as an incentive? Something that is special, that has value. It's logical, especially if at least one of the items had been previously used as an incentive in the very same manner ("Try this game and get this special ability that no one else will have!".
The fact remains that this happened because all those who did not have these two abilities were able to cry louder than those who had earned them under the conditions they were originally given out. Mob rules, I guess.

The abilities lost their special status when they started getting given out again. Nobody complained until they gave them away freely with new trails, people weren't bothered that only the 'Vet's had it until the new trilees started getting it too. What they became were abilities that everyone could have unless you bought the game at a certain time in which case you could have a slap in the face instead. Out of the three groups 'Vets', Normal Subcribers, and Trialees, it was both the 'Vets' and Normal Subscribers who got screwed, 'Vets' because of the loss of status of the ability and Normal Subscribers because they were the only ones not to get it through no fault of their own.
It's not a matter of Mob rules its a matter of making up for the resumed marketing scheme by adding in something for those who got that slap to get the abilities in order to get things fair and square between the three parties.
