First thing I recommend you do is get into a faction. Which is basically a guild.

Firstly, don't rush, take your time, go through the introductory collectors and missions. As Denary said a faction will help you out immensly but before you join one, you have to make a decision of which Org to join. Zion, Mech or Merv. (Don't worry, you can change your mind at any time if it doesn't work out) If you want to Join EPN or the Cypherites (splinter groups of Zion and Mech's respectively) then follow their parent Org. You'll be able to choose once you have completed the Zion introductory missions.

Secondly, If you have any questions, ask here, there should be someone to help you out, you may want to read other new player's threads, they may have asked the same questions you have.

Finally, Welcome to MxO, Have fun!

Hey buddy, im fairly new too SMILEY my main is level 10 rofl, if you are on 'Vector-Hostile' server i'd be more than happy to have someone fight along side me in missions, add me.. the name is 'Zytex' i think, i can never clearly remember as its an odd name lol also i'm with Zion too. Would make a cracking team ^-^. And by the way, Vector Hostile flags you as Permanently PvP enabled when you get to level 16, i think. (if i'm wrong someone please correct me) This is like a PvP server in WoW.. meaning you are constantly under threat from players of different organizations, so us both being with Zion means at later levels we can be assaulted/ assault those of the Machines and Merv Organizations which adds more excitement and reality to the game in my opinion.

Hope to hear from you SMILEY Peace Out
Nuke. x

Look on the marketplace (Accessible via right clicking a hardline), ask a level 50 if they can code clothing of your level, or save/decompile clothing you get from looting NPCs.

Clothing you will mostly find dropped as loot, you can buy some of the market as mentioned above but there may not be many items for your level and may be expensive.

You will find some collectors in Richland who, in exchange for a certain amount of gang tokens, will give you an item of clothing. Collectors show up on your minimap as Pinky Red boxes with a circle inside. Loripor (just south of the Mara Central Hardline) collects the rings from the Blackwoods who are around Mara and in exchange will give you a pretty decent jacket for a low level player.

Look out for these collectors, they are dotted around all over and the items can be pretty useful. If you don't want to wander around to hopefully stumble upon them, the Omega syndicate website shows the locations of each collector (although the stats and level requirements for collector items are out of date).

As for an Avatar and Signature. After 30 days you'll be able to have a signature, you can only have an avatar after 300 or so days (not too sure the exact figure, but it's around 300 from what I remember)

Lol, it's been a while since I did it so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. In order to decompile objects you need a decompiler. Now you may be able to buy one of these from the market or you can code one yourself. The only issue with writing one yourself is that it's an object not an ability. An object requires compiling to make.

When you write objects or clothing you end up with it's code format in your inventory. You need to upload this code via HL and then use a compiler to actually code it. So you'll need to code or buy a compiler too.

Of course you may ask 'If I don't have a compiler, how can I write and compile a compiler?' well if you go to your loading area and click on the object code in your inventory pages, you should see a compile button. This will do the comiling for you, although the object won't have any purity (not much of an issue with non-combat items though). When you have a compiler object in your inventory, you'll be able to compile objects while still in the simulation and with purity (purity is so you'll be able to repair items which get broken)

You can also write the code for a decompiler and compile it in your LA too if you're in a hurry.

I hope I made sense (i'm not incredibly articulate when it comes to directions!), it's quite difficult to remember exactly what goes on when I'm at work! Don't forget that people around you may be able to help you out, but don't believe them if they say that typing /pvp enables you to visit or talk to Neo... SMILEY
