dnld the latest patch and then got this error(see attched scnsht) i have a
9800xt with the latest patches....xp pro sp 1(won't use sp2) i have never had
thes problem before...ever!...i used the knowledge base and made a
useropt.cfg(sp) file and added the 'fix' ..didn't work.pls help i want my
masks!!!!

Some people got it fixed by reinstalling audio and/or video drivers.
Others just by rebooting. I fixed mine by reinstalling DirectX. Try one
or all of those.

tried both reinstalling DirectX and updating the Video Card Drivers to the latest Version 81.85.  Sill getting the same error
